Ignore the childish title lol…I’m just curious if i’m the only one whose upset that there will be no halo 4 beta. I understand it takes time and it will slow the process of the game down. But wouldn’t it make more sense to let the community give it a go to give actual feedback? I mean they put a heavy emphasis on trying to please the community and how this game is made along with its elements with us in mind.

I was extremely disappointed by this information as well.
This is 343’s first real Halo game (in terms of story and gameplay), and the they can’t afford to screw this up. I want them to show us that they actually care what we have to say instead of assuming they know us better than we know ourselves and what we want.
With how different the game looks like it will be from the others, not having a Beta will be a huge mistake in my opinion. They need to know how we react to the way the game is playing BEFORE launch that way if we don’t like the Beta, they can fix what we didn’t like before the retail game ships and the people who buy it are ticked off.
Halo has always been a community focused game, and when I heard they aren’t having a Beta, it felt like a slap in the face.
Regardless of what he said. He didn’t say there will be no beta… If he did then there would be a discussion here but until then there is nothing to talk about other than odd assumptions based off of your need to have an argument or sound important on the thread.

Agreed. Footage of gameplay is nice…but the 2 major problems with that is they 1) can choose exactly what we see to make certain things look “good” and 2) watching only gives us part of the expirence. we only get so much from it.
I really hope they do re consider and make a beta even if its only a month. It would give them so much more info.

Granted he didn’t say directly " sorry no beta" but he did pretty much hint at it. Bungie and 343 alike have a wonderful way of telling us things we wouldn’t wana hear in such a way that it doesn’t seem too bad. (not saying i don’t trust either or there bad companies)
from that video i don’t expect to see a beta unless we the community bothers the -Yoink- out of them.

But no matter how much experience they have its still not gona help as much as getting raw feedback from the community itself. And as i said in a pervious reply footage only gives us so much.
I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a beta. With such an enormous game, it would be a mistake of EPIC proportions if one wasn’t released. My theory is that, because the Reach beta was released around 5 months before the actual game. With H4 coming out in about November, we could expect a beta in July/ maybe August. But that’s only a theory… I hope.

I hope as well. Maybe if we continue to express the need for a beta loud enough for 343 to hear we will get one. I know its a long shot but weve done amazing things before. If i remember correctly we got bungie to extend the halo 3 beta by another couple weeks.

I could always start a thread to try to get lots of people to sign as support showing we want a beta thats more productive then half the threads ive seen today. I believe a beta is very importent in a games process of creation. Its always worked out well for halo so far so why change?

yeah this is my only complaint so far… betas give the developer time to not only root out bugs but see how the community feels and make necessary changes. idk though

Yes, I know in reach the beta let them know to change DMR magazine size, Grenade Damage, Jump height, and player speed. (not sure if that’s all they did)

i will wait a few days to make such a thread. the info is new and i want it to get around.
A beta will help the game alot with bugs and what the change and what to keep the same.
I would love for their to be a Beta
