Grifball is a staple in Halo’s multiplayer, at this point. So much so that they even got the announcer to record lines specifically for the game mode in Halo 4. The Gravity Hammer has to come back.
It was confirmed by Frankie to be back months ago on NeoGaf. A community cartographer also Tweeted about it from his Forge testing at 343i.
It will come back. Either through Reqs or as an easter egg item like in halo 4.

They already showed off the Halo 5 hammer in that blog post about how getting kicked from games works

Hammer has been confirmed like 4 times over. It’s not there yet but it’s coming. 
Maybe its being released later on. I suspect the same with the SPNKR. Neither are there as req cards atm.
Grifball was too big not to bring it back. Maybe it’ll come along with forge in December. Just my guess, since Forge maps were practically coupled with Grifball.
