Must we all assume the worst every time this is brought up? I suspect only naiveté on the OP’s post, not malicious intent.
potentially ignorance from not seeing the marketing too, that can happen when you’re out of the loop.

I mean i like playin as chicks in games and a girls body and a skinny guys body aint the same
Theyre in armor though so it aint that big of a deal but my spartan feels more like a dude than a girl
And a gender slide would solve that how? Giving that option further limits your expression. Instead of a faceless spartan to you will now have presets. Limiting yourself.
Best way i can describe this is with a question. Before Master Chief’s face was shown he could have been a darn near anything. Same with your in-game spartan.
This is a bit off topic now but since people are talking about it. I remember when I first played reach on my brothers Xbox and how cool it was I could play as girl spartan instead of just a voice. The fact that my armor and character was in the campagin was also cool.
You’re 100% right. No way of knowing. Since I browse the forum and have this topic a ton I can only view the topic/question as trolling.
Could just have a gender slider and change the body type
we already do technically have presets, what is wanted is “more presets”, this isn’t a customisation system like saaaay Soulcalibur or Fallout so I don’t expect every aspect of the undersuit to be tweakable.
Yeah well guess what it aint. It aint ops fault you see things you dont like as trollin
Please don’t, I end up getting involved in this topic heavily myself, since I just find the system that we have rn to be “Good, but could use more options”, least on the body type side of things, voices im ok with, though I wonder if we could get a voice thats different in accent? more variety is nice after all in a game where the selling point FTP wise is “the multiplayer spartan.”
Then that’s how to feel. Not sure why you feel a female spartan would be smaller/ less muscular than than male counter parts since they are genetically enhanced. I see most feel like most female Spartans would be like the Spartan from Halo: Legends, The Babysitter
Our Spartans in multiplayer would still be faceless with or without a slider. I don’t know why you think having a slider would mean our characters had a face. Unless I’m confused about what you’re saying, in which case could you clarify?
I also fail to see how a slider would limit our options. Right now we have three options. There’s no way a slider would give less than that. Though personally I don’t care if we get a slider, I just want a few more options. But no matter what, more options doesn’t limit us.
Also, Master Chief couldn’t have been anyone before his face was shown. He was always a male Spartan with a pretty deep voice. Sure we didn’t see his face, but it’s not like anyone realistically thought he could look like Beyonce or something just because they hadn’t seen him without a helmet.
That would actually be pretty neat
Cause buff girls and buff dudes dont look the same
For one, Cal was a Spartan II and our Spartans are Spartan IVs. They were augmented in adulthood, and would have experienced puberty. If is unlikely that male and female Spartan IVs would look exactly the same. Two, in game every generation of Spartan has had noticeable sexual dimorphism, even Spartan IIs in Halo 5. Three, a female voice implies a distinct lack of testosterone. You can teach a man to sound female through voice coaching, but it’s unlikely Spartans underwent voice coaching, so if they sound female, then chances are they never experienced high testosterone levels, hence they would likely have stereotypically female features. That’s just science.
Also, just because they’re peak physical fitness doesn’t mean dimorphism would go away either. Ever look at male and female Olympic athletes?
Though science aside, this was a game touting tons of customization options. And bragging about our Spartans feeling ours. One would imagine this would include body options that people felt represented by. A lot of people don’t.
Sure, face as in identity. The options given currently has purposely ambiguous. This allows play to project themselves in, I believe, a more accurate manner. A slider for gender would only hinder your expression because how do you realistically create a slider for gender and won’t exclude someone?
I believe it would. Instead of a self-imposed identity you are are not a combination of selectable options. Limit what you can/could be.
I was more talking in the sense of racial/ethnic identity
In 1 ton spartan armor i have a hard time believing anyone actually believes that.
See: Halo: Forward Unto Dawn for a surprise age reveal and Spartan from Halo: Legends, The Babysitter for a surprise gender reveal. It’s almost like its on purpose/design.
who was also a spartan 2, was a nice reveal yes given the overall moment and narrative, but context wise, the one from babysitter is a spartan II
Yeah thats basically exactly what i said in my 3rd post. Good job

I don’t know about you, but even in games where my character has a face I project an identity on them. Also, our Spartans are still going to be in Mjolnir. It’s not like we would stop imagining what they’d look like underneath. But regardless of what you’d think. People don’t feel represented, and just because you feel differently, it doesn’t mean people are trolls for wanting more options.
A slider for gender would only hinder your expression because how do you realistically create a slider for gender and won’t exclude someone?
We can’t expect everyone to be perfectly represented of course. There are 8 billion people on the planet after all. But do you honestly think with more options less people would be represented?
believe it would. Instead of a self-imposed identity you are are not a combination of selectable options. Limit what you can/could be.
Then would you prefer we went back to Halo CE customization? Because more options limits self imposed identity as you say? Honestly, I don’t buy this. People will still impose their identities on their Spartans. Having more options just makes them feel more personal.
I was more talking in the sense of racial/ethnic identity
Okay, maybe there, but the character still never represented women or non-binary people. That was never the case. Master Chief was never totally faceless.
I think to best get my point across would be to asked. In the game Halo: Infinte what color is your character’s hair, what’s their race? If you give these options silders you aren’t giving yourself more options but limiting what they could be or how you think they could.
Less options/ambiguous options = more expression
