No gender select option?

I thought with the yoroi core we would get some Japanese VO’s since they come from the fudel japan part of the halo universe, but thats too much work for 343, just like adding these body type options to the fracture cores.
Yoroi is not at all effected by changing the body type, it doesnt change at all anywhere over the body

I’m tired of heterosexuals with no brain capacity to understand the point of this.

@TH0MAS_ANDRE
OP was looking for ways to customize their Spartan. Did you really think they were looking for a drop down menu or something that didn’t actually affect anything? Come on now. If there is a troll in this thread, it isn’t OP.

Ya I noticed that yoroj is always hefty, was infinite localised for Japan? If it was they could have just shaped out the announcer for spawn be a cool touch

Probably has the voice overs, but because it needs to be translated for english it means more work, something 343 isnt too keen on

I agree they need to add female Spartans. I don’t know why they were ever removed. Plenty of girls play this game.

The three body types look like different weight male Spartans. Why not chuck a couple of female options in there too?

No I mean just for the initial spawn announcer. You have to play a bit to get yoroi so the gamemodes are familiar so just having a Japanese VO for that would be a neat easter egg that requires no translation as the English sub exists in files already

Why talking about female bodies or just even mentioning the word “gender” makes the post an automatic “political” thread? Lmaooo what people is asking is for a female body, literally more options than the bland ones we currently have, you know the thing that the game has had since reach? a thing that happened 12 years ago? these “antiwoke” people just are delisional on purpose. and try to justify their pathetic takes with “not in my games bruh”

Or incels are trully scared of women to the point that they feel safer beeing surrounded by tons of buff men? Thats interesting.

It becomes a political issue because of the reason 343 have done what they have done and why it’s the way it is. Tends to involve things like trans and more than two genders.

Adding neutral options and having voices separate from body types accommodates some trans and non-binary people. Not having definitively masculine and feminine body types alienates some people cis and trans alike. If they just added two more body types they’d accommodate more people. That shouldn’t be political.

The whole topic of gender is political at the moment, so no matter what gets done it’ll still be political. If they did just male and female, its political because there’s nothing else. If they did more then it’s political because some view gender as just male and female. It’s a whole~ can of worms.

Just have five body types, the three we have now, and a more masculine and feminine option. Thst way they include more people than with just male and female bodies. And regardless of if someone believes in more genders or not, you’re not saying they’re wrong, because you’re not calling them genders, they’re just shapes and voice. People have different shapes and voices, that’s not political, it’s just a fact. No need for baggage, and they can include more people than they are.

If you want a female spartan, like Kat, you can pick the narrow waist body type, select specific poses and armor pieces that highlight your character’s form, and then select a feminine voice type.

Boom. You’ve got a female spartan. It’s easy!

Silly post. Let me enlighten you:

Gender is a social construct and 343 knows this

Everyone knows that hormonal profiles and XY, XX chromosomes mean nothing anymore

I can see where you’re coming from, and you’d be right if the voices weren’t seperate. If you chose say a buff dude body with a fem voice, then that can be seen as a statement. You get what I mean? You could also say we’d then have 4 male bodies and 1 female.

… Did that, still looked like a dude.

Yeah I selected the feminine body and one of the feminine voices, although the voices are glitched and don’t always register (nobody seems to be talking about that).

I always play as a female spartan, since way back when the voice was the only option.

I get what you’re saying, but I don’t really agree. For one, it’s just the players picking it at that point. The developer isn’t doing anything. What’s political about a player choosing an option?

Also, I have heard some buff men that have some pretty feminine voices. And some women with some pretty masculine voices. Not even all LGBT people either. In particular women who’ve smoked a long time can have some pretty “masculine” voices. And even my mom gets mistaken for male on the phone, and she literally gave birth to me. People don’t always have the voices you’d expect based on how they look, again, that’s not political, it’s just a fact.

Oh I agree. Had an auntie who smoked and drank and her voice wasn’t exactly feminine XD The big problem is to a lot of people it’s black and white. You agree or disagree, there’s no in-between which is daft.

Right, I mean this is all a nonissue. People should just look at it like a blank slate where they can customize whatever kind of gender they want. They can be a buff lady or a skinny dude or whatever they want, it’s all in the imagination at a certain point.

Maybe have a backstory. Does your female spartan with a feminine body and feminine voice like their steak medium rare? Mine does. She also likes to wear ODST armor, what does it matter? If someone wants to be a trans spartan then the option is possible, it’s not a big deal and has no impact on gameplay. The size of the model doesn’t impact shot registration or anything like that so it’s all cosmetic.

The thing to think about is maybe increasing said options. It could do with a couple more body types, because the most feminine one isn’t quite as feminine as the Reach option, and the most “masculine” one just kind of looks chunky and not really buff imo. Maybe expand on what we have now.
