It’s seeming more and more likely that we really won’t see or hear anything big about the game until E3, the huge event and blowout. However, with most of the Halo games, there is an issue of Game Informer that shows screenshots of the game as well as some info on it, in terms of story and gameplay. These issues are usually put out weeks or months before E3. With them likely holding off showing the game until E3, would you say it stands to reason that there won’t be an Infinite-focused GI issue?
I’m guessing if there is a GI issue with Infinite as the cover story, it won’t come out until early to mid summer. I think that most of the prestige that used to be associated with that publication has decayed along with its parent company GameStop’s prominence in the overall industry, though. I won’t be at all surprised if 343i and MS don’t bother with partnering for a cover story issue this time around, accordingly.
If it does come out at all, though, I’d guess it’ll be June or July. The impact of an E3 stage reveal will almost definitely be a lot more effective than an article in GameInformer. A follow-up issue in the next month or two won’t be out of the question, though (again, if 343 and MS place enough value on GI’s journalistic reach).
I don’t see why not, why are you thinking there won’t be this time around?
I’d expect to see it just after E3, honestly.
