I don’t know what’s up but all I get is bad game after bad game. I consider myself an experienced average player, I have a good K/D and I play with people that are around the same skill set and rank but all I get teamed up against are inheritors or forerunners and we get blown over. But it seems like it’s more frequent now.
Some of what irritates me is Team Slayer not being TU while everything else is, then on top of that, crappy maps. Gray forge world maps with bad spawns.
And lastly I’m curious how we are matched up against each other, do they use your visual rank or do they use your hidden BPR rating (which I say should show up on your service record when you click on their name in the ore-game lobby).
I ask that because we might be slightly close in the visual ranking, but if you looked at the BPR they’re most likey in the mid 80’s while we’re at the highest 72.
I occasionally run into great teams but most of the time I just have horrible teammates.
The one game that sticks out as when I was matched up with great players was in BTB where I was with 2 friends and the other 5 people were randoms. The highest rank on our team was a Brigadier and only 3 people on our team had a positive K/D. We were matched up against a full party of 8 who were all Forerunners, Reclaimers and Inheritors all with a K/D above 1.8. Plus in the pre-game lobby they were talking about how they were practicing for a BTB tournament.
Earlier today I was playing SWAT and the people we played were not very good (I went 34-20) but my 3 teammates combined for 4 kills (2 of my teammates had 0 kills). We lost 50-38 despite my 34 kills.
I just play FFA mostly, with a few BTB and Invasion games on the side, I don’t really mind if I win or lose as long as it’s a good game.
What’s with the obsession with winning or losing anyway? I’m just here to have fun, and if I do, Halo is doing it’s job.
If you’re REALLY sick of bad teammates, go play Rumble pit.
As one of the players you are describing (who search in full parties) I also dislike that we are matched with players looking to play for fun rather than other full teams.
I find a game much more enjoyable when it is played against decent competition rather than having it just become a slaughter game after game.
I’m just hoping that Halo 4 has a ranked system that actually functions properly so we can mostly find opponents of our own caliber when searching.
Regular matchmaking playlists in Halo Reach do not use any skill-based criteria for making matches. This means that you can, and most likely will, match with players very much higher or way below your skill level. I get matched with players who aren’t even close to me in terms of skill almost all the time, it is just a fault of Bungie wanting to move to a more “social” searching method. It provides faster matches at the risk of matching unsuitable teams.
If you want a TU Slayer experience, Super Slayer is almost exactly the same thing. The playlist only lacks a couple maps, and the Elite Slayer gametype.
What is a simple and easy solution that everyone can agree on in all the types of communities in Halo to solve everybody’s problems with competition, social, and just fun?
Also, here is a thought I ponder upon a lot these days. Why do people in video game multiplayer want to ruin it for people (speaking of terms like teabagging, trash talk, and lieing about superior players.)? Halo is supposed to be a community, a family to which everyone can say hey how’s it going? Want to play a good game of catch? Right now it’s more like a Cinderella situation. Why can’t we all just get along and just play Halo like Spartans should?

I agree with you. I also believe that because there is really no incentive to actually play the game other than earning credits for everything you do, bores many players to the point of being annoying to others that actually want to play right. I hope Halo 4 really punishes the rampant betrayers and griefers. THAT would make my gaming experience so much better.

That right there made me just think of something in reference to Halo. Betrayers and griefers are like the Flood and we need to activate the Halo Array to keep the Flood Infection from spreading into the Halo Community any further. This is very corny but it makes since and I apologize to the people it is just a metaphor with the Flood lol. But seriously we do need to figure something out that should calm down this unfriendly business before Halo 4.
TrueSkill ranking system.
Basically if you go in alone and have a high trueskill, you’ll receive the worst players from the pool as Matchmaking attempts to average the teams out.
