I’ve actually come around to the lack of friendly fire in Infinite, being free to play it would be too easy for sick people to spend their entire day joining matches and betraying teammates- but under the assumption there was no FF I just splattered two friendlies with a chopper.
I’m not sure I understand the reasoning behind disabling friendly fire with weapons, explosives, and melee but letting people just mow down their teammates. Seems kinda backwards to me. What’s everyone’s thoughts on this?
Def think they should be all or nothing with this type of thing. Personally i niss FF and player collision.
Also i can imagine the shock of accidentally inbedding your teammates in your wheel and im sorry but i laughed
I agree it definitely feels like a very odd choice. I remember a few moments in the flight where I was zipping around in a ghost, see a teammate, and just keep going 'cause “Oh this one doesn’t have collisions”. Maybe it’s intentional to give vehicles a bit of a handicap? But it just feels confusing to have only vehicles collide with teammates.
It should definitely be all or nothing.
Yeah I definitely miss player collision and want that back… I initially was really upset that there was no friendly fire, because you no longer have to think when, for instance, firing rockets into a firefight. It just gets explosion spammy.
Personally, my suggestions to 343 would be: Figure out how to leverage your anti-cheat and/or xbox/microsoft account integration to fingerprint and perma-ban repeat teamkillers. have a robust reporting system.
Or even simpler-FF on and just a vote to kick option. It’s really obvious to other players when a toxic player is intentionally teamkilling, so when a player betrays twice in a row (not twice at once, that could be an accident… ha.) just give the team the option to kick them.
Just an example of the negative effects of no friendly fire…
One game, I was hijacking a Ghost and his teammate rocketed us both on the Ghost, killing me but allowing him to continue fighting with an unscathed Ghost. lol
Then again, I attacked my teammate once cause I saw red armor and thought he was an enemy. So, yeah…
Yeah, remove player collision, and friendly fire, but leave in friendly splatter. I’m really struggling to see any logic.
The lack of friendly fire is annoying. Halo Infinite Grenades is not fun.
