Face it, firefight was never really that popular. Only a small handful of people actually played Odst firefight, and the Reach FF playlists are practically empty most of the time.
I remember back in the summer Everybody was begging for FF in Reach, but it seems like people only played for the Cr and achievements.
Down to the point: FF isn’t that great, it takes away time that could be spent on better/newer things. I want you all to get past this, and I hope 343 brings something fresh to the table.
It wasn’t popular because of Zombies. Make FireFight like Zombies, by changing it’s name to to something related to the Flood, put the Flood in. Then put a whole bunch of scary crap in there. And voila! You got a huge -Yoink!- of people playing FireFight.

I disagree.
If it was not successful in ODST they would not have brought it back in Reach. FireFight is Halo’s survival game type that pretty much every game has these days. Not everyone favours Mutliplayer Matchmaking or even online play, FireFight is another game type other than Campaign for this player base as well as everyone else.
I made a thread on this a while back, but it’s pretty long: Link
In a nutshell, I’d rather have a high quality multiplayer than a sub par multiplayer and sub par firefight. But if we can quality AND quantiy, fantastic.

You crazy.
Also, stop trying to shove your ‘opinions’ down other peoples’ throats. This community, probably more-so than others, tends to shove back.
OT: I personally know plenty of people who played & still play Firefight and enjoy it immensely. Whether you like it or not, FF is now just as much a part of Halo as Campaign, MP and Forge.

The only reason not many enjoyed Halo 3: ODSTs Firefight was because of the lack of Firefight Matchmaking back then.
When Reach came out, with mechanics like Bloom & the latency in Firefight, it made playing it online, in a survival gametype similar to ODST, hard to play, and with the lack of a FF Survival playlist, it doesn’t exactly introduce new fans either, it is all Arcade, Arcade, Arcade.
Reach’s Firefight turned into a massive rocket spam fest and who can get the most rocket kills to boost their rank & commendations up.
Firefight should be in Halo 4, but in no way should it affect your online rank for multiplayer.
