No female Spartan option?

I can’t help but be disappointed that there is no option for female Spartans, and hope that this will change for the final release of Halo Infinite.
I was hoping that we’d get to choose our Spartan gender even in these Tech builds but that doesn’t seem to be the case, but maybe in the next Flight we could be so lucky?
I don’t see the point of having three different male Spartan body types and not even one female Spartan option. Not even the option to change the voice of your Spartan.

Could we please get the option next Flight? I’d say it’s more important to have the two genders over a single one with three different body types. It is after all, ‘‘our Spartan’s journey’’

EDIT: Unfollowing this thread, it’s obvious some Men don’t care about Women’s feelings in this community. Sorry I offended you with a post on a forum

I agree that there needs to be a female option but for the sake of a test build of the game, it shouldn’t be a high priority. It’s like asking for all the armors to be added in the test flight just so we can all try them out.

The first flight is just intended to see how the game performs. A simple stress test.

Seriously, why bother about the option to choose your gender when the main focus should be on the playability of the game. Honestly, find something that’s worth writing about (e.g. optimization prospects for PC and Xbox builds, map development, menu navigation, etc.). 343 has made it clear that this build will be limited, so don’t raise the bar.

Theres a halo waypoint app beta where you can change the voice of your spartan but the labeling is just letters and numbers so you can’t tell what voice you’re going to get.

I agree, it’s not high priority. I’m just trying to figure out why three different body types for male Spartans was prioritized over a single one for male and a single one for female.

I’m simply voicing my opinion on the matter, you don’t have to reply if you don’t care about the topic

The feedback is necessary, even if it isn’t stability or optimization focused. QoL and immersion are just as important to a game as its general functionality. The inability to be a female would actually be enough for me to skip the multiplayer in the final release, and just play another game instead. This sort of thing matters to a lot of people for a variety of reasons that I won’t get in to.

I’d rather have the game running than worried about a stupid matter such as the spartan’s gender, either wait till’ the multiplayer drops or don’t play the game if it affects you that much. I, truthfully see no point in the body type mechanic since can’t necessarily turn them around to see what changed.

let me guess, you’re a guy

Again, immersion is important to a game. I get it, it’s hard for a guy to get that given they’ve always had the option to play as a guy. But, it is important to a lot of people. Especially in a game where customization is highlighted as a major mechanic, and the major thing running the entire multiplayer reward system/monetization. If our Spartans are supposed to represent us, then having the option to be a different gender is the bare minimum.
The matter is stupid to you, but it’s ignorant at best to say it’s a stupid issue overall. This isn’t 2001 anymore, it’s 2021 and the world has changed; especially in regards to the gaming industry. This sort of thing is important now, and there is no getting around it.

As I said in my prior response, I will ignore the multiplayer segment entirely if this option is not present and just play another game. But, that does not mean people are not allowed to voice feedback. The point of this preview is for feedback. Customization feedback included given that’s one of the things they are testing.

I would be truly shocked if at release they don’t have a female option. As others have said it is just a technical preview so it is more about how smooth the game is.

Odds are it is something they are going to add. Maybe it will show up in a future flight but I would wager that it will be a feature at release.

This really isn’t an important issue when beta testing a game. It will be added at future release. The fact you’re “upset” about it during beta testing should not merit another invite for future testing on your behalf.

That’s really not your call to make. Granted it’s a silly thing to be upset over, but you saying that is equally as silly and quite uncalled for.

I’m just offering criticism…what’s wrong with that? Expect ppl to disagree with you, and don’t reply back “that’s just my opinion”–nobody said it wasn’t and you are entitled to it

Ursidae, I agree with you. However, this is not what beta (and for that matter alpha as well) testing is for. Feedback on matters like these should be reserved for later dates. I could also raise awareness about the fact that vehicles are missing (an essential element to the Halo franchise), but again, this isn’t an issue given the stage at which 343 is at in the game’s development. What’s sad about recent tech previews, such as this one, is the fact that “appropriate feedback” isn’t encouraged, so we see people lash out at all kinds of nuisances–“I can’t help but be disappointed that there is no option for female Spartans, and hope that this will change for the final release of Halo Infinite.” Buddy, we can definitely postpone this conversation for later as implied in the post…

Where in my post did I use the word ‘‘upset’’?

I’ve done my fair share of bug reporting on this test, I also happened to make this one singular post about a feature that has been in the past three Halo games suddenly be missing from the customization menu.
As a female fan of this series this exclusion confused me, there’s not even a greyed out option for it, there’s no space in the customization menus anywhere to implicate this is a planned feature. THAT is why I thought it was important to mention.

NO it’s not the most important thing during these Technical tests
NO it shouldn’t take priority over bug fixes and general stability work
YES it’s important to talk about

I’m sorry I voiced my opinion on it during a Flight test, in the INSIDER FORUMS that is specifically for players to talk about the games in development and give their thoughts about the games. You don’t see me making a bug report on the issue, do you?

You shouldn’t be so quick to decide for the moderators of these tests about who is and who isn’t merited to participate in these tests.

Alpha male

I’m sure they’ve got something cooking.

The different body types are replacements for the male/female options former games had, as other games have been doing, they’re removing gendered language from body types and voices, which is great imo, at least so long as they don’t do some weird -Yoink- like CP2077 and tie pronouns to voices

The way they utilize third to first person and first person to UI like at the end of a match makes it feel like we are piloting some sort of robot. I’m sure it’s not meant to be that, but it feels like it for some reason.
