I think by the time you killed the 3rd and 4th guy, the 1st guy you killed already spawned.
The 1st guy was killed at 6:29 and then the 3rd and 4th guy killed at 6:22… Aren’t the spawn times like 4-5 seconds?
Good job on the overkill though!
methinks the environmental kills (you hit the fusion cores and blew the last two enemies up) dont count towards the medal
this means you bullets must kill the enemies to proc the extermination medal
each bullet fired from a player has “tags” that mark the target
you tagged the fusion cores which blew up and killed the players hence “you KILLED so and so” instead of showing the kill with a weapon
extermination must require weapon tags on each enemy to proc

I don’t believe the entire team has to be dead at the same time for the extermination (that would be near impossible). You just have to kill everyone on the team with an overkill or better.

The Extermination is if the entire team is dead. That’s how it’s always been. I’m telling you… I think the first guy spawned right as the 3rd and 4th guy were getting killed.
And no… The Extermination doesn’t require a weapon tag to count. Deaths and timing. That’s what counts.

Just look at the timing… If an enemy spawns before getting that overkill, it does not count.

Your probably right, that would make more sense and then I can imagine the kills from the environmental stuff could still count towards an extermination.
After you picked up the shotty it looks like you killed three guys and got a overkill.
and how does everyone elses shotty have so much range when mine would only drop their shields from that far.

If you take a look at your Halo 5 medal chest, it’s listed with everything else.
“Extermination - wipe out an enemy team with at least an Overkill”

You received an Extinction for that since it was in Breakout. The enemy doesn’t have any ability to re spawn, so the Extermination medal can’t apply, but you got the equivalent medal in Breakout.
FYI, Extermination IS in Halo 5, however, the medal was broken between Beta (when it worked), and release (now). It seems 343 can dictate which medals are earned via Arena/Warzone, and my guess is Extermination is for some reason only awardable in Warzone or isn’t working altogether correctly.
The way I know it doesn’t work correctly, is in a match of Arena CTF on Empire, respawns are 7 or 8 seconds. I killed all 4 enemies for an Overkill in roughly 3 seconds with a Plasma Caster. All 4 dead together at the same time, with an Overkill, and were all respawning for like 4 seconds together.

I’m going to get into the theater and re-watch my game and see when they re-spawn. I’ll update this post this evening with the results. It would not surprise me at all to find out more is broken with this game…
