Unless you were living under a rock Halo 5s sandbox was incredible and rewarded all types of players just because a utility weapon is useful didn’t make the rest non useful. Btb needs BR starts for sure

Halo 5 had great weapons but was brought down by its nonsense abilities and horrible maps. Halo Infinite has better maps, better weapons too and a toned down twitchy abilities.
Plaza = good
Overgrowth = bad
Thruster = good
Spartan charge = bad
I always felt the thruster was always a get out of jail free pass during engagements. Halo 5 and even Infinite are too fast and often feels like im playing a twitch shooter instead of an Arena shooter. Playing Halo 2 or Halo 3 is so smooth and well paced, i dont feel that Halo had to become faster than that.

Dodging danger is the whole point of a thruster pack as well as other things. If you didn’t use your thruster to the best of your ability that was on you. Everyone had one
Because it’s more fun and forces you to change your strategy. Imagine 12 BRs going off… at all times. That’s the alternative you’re recommending!

Past halos would only work with BR starts because every other weapon was absolutely useless. That’s not the case with Infinite.
BR starts effectively destroy the social nature of BTB, eliminates the need for power weapons and map control. There is no reason whatsoever to have BR starts in infinite.

Anyone saying other weapons were useless really doesn’t know what they are talking about, BR starts in BTB would be better simply by allowing starting players to have a chance at contesting ranged players and vehicles. Map control is useless in Infinite regardless of the starting weapon so in the end it ends up a discussion of the better starting weapon for players.

I disagree entirely. For years the weapon sandbox was dominated by the BR, I don’t want that to happen again. The BR is literally a power weapon.
Easy fix, have more BRs on the map to pick up.

So your solution to fight long ranged weapons is to… Give everyone long ranged weapons?
If you don’t want for people to have the advantage on long ranged weapons get to the power weapons first. That’s like the main reason to play Halo. The people complaing about AR starts act as if you have no control over the match whatsoever, with AR starts everyone has equal footing on reaching long range rifles or power weapons. The firefight are fare and meaningful.
If I wanted to start my game with a power weapon I would play fiesta.
I agree they’re logic makes no sense. “Br dominated other Halo’s and all the other weapons suck but now all weapons are good especially our beloved pea shooter so BR is bad”.
These noobs like spray and pray which takes no skill to get better with. A well balanced BR means they have to try lol and they don’t want to do that.

If the enemy team wins the initial fight and gets all the ranged weapons and you are stuck on AR spawns you are screwed, this is a fact. BR starts have always been the solution as they give the team on the backfoot a way to get back in the match as they start with a weapon capable of contesting at all ranges.
Anyone saying the BR is a power weapon needs to go back to COD

The opponent team wins all the power weapons? that’s literally impossible as power weapons are spread across the map. Including your teams spawn base…
I have never witnessed the scenario which you described.
The sniper, rockets and other goodies are placed usually around the middle, no reason calling them power weapons if you don’t need to fight over them.
It doesn’t take any skill to use a BR in a BTB match. That’s the best weapon to have.
A BR will win against a rocket launcher or sword or even sniper in a big map with long distances. Having an AR start assures that people need to fight for that privilege.

The BR requires more skill to use than the AR so it’s automatically a better starter.
If you have rockets, a sword or a sniper and you are losing to a BR you are just a bad player.

Because of the range, you can just cross map people. All anyone does in the other games is camp with their BR, that or only use the BR. If I ever try to use anything beside the Battle Rifle I get stomped, and to be real honest I’m tired of it.
You want to use something interesting and cool like the Spiker? Too bad you have to use the BR. Want to duel wield SMGs like in an action movie? NOPE! You get stomped by my precision weapon. It happens all the time. I’m by no means attacking anyone who likes it this way, but I absolutely hate it.
