Hi,
This Halo 4 Spartan Ops achievement is the last achievement I need in Halo 4. It reads:
“In Ch 1, Ep 5 of Spartan Ops survive the enemy assault during the defense on Normal or harder.”
I just completed a game on this mission (Spartan Miller to use its name), solo, on Normal, with 163 kills and 0 deaths. I’m not sure what part the ‘defense’ refers to, probably the part where you have to defend the scientific equipment, but when I don’t die throughout the entire mission I would consider that to be ‘surviving’. Neither of the equipments were destroyed either.
But I did not receive the achievement. I am very puzzled by this. You can check my service record to see that I did indeed complete the mission on Normal with 0 deaths.
So I’m just wondering if I’m the only person who has encountered this problem, or if perhaps I mistook the achievement parameters.
FIRST; it has to be on Heroic
SECOND; you’ll get it before you press the button on the generator thing blow the portal at the end of the mission.
You dont even have to “survive”, you just have to make sure you kill everything before you press the button thats high-lighted with red. Once everything’s dead, you get the achievement. THEN you press the button. not before hand.
It also has nothing to do with the relays.

Huh. That is strange, especially since I’ve got my Xbox Guide open here and the achievement description clearly reads ‘Normal’. Perhaps a blunder on 343’s part. I guess I’ll try it again on Heroic. Thanks for the info.
Yeah same here, did on Normal and nothing. I searched for players for that mission and got that achievement.
Like the post above me, I believe it has to be done on Heroic also. I recommend searching for players on Spartan Millar. The many times I played that mission online, I’ve never died… yet lol; Plus you earn a lot of EXP.
