NO Double XP Outside of USA

For reference here are the Mountain Dew & Doritos terms

Why didn’t they release a double XP promotion globally? I’m trying not to complain or whinge but this is just silly.

In Halo 3 or Reach I wouldn’t care about double XP country restrictions because they have no affect on gameplay.

However in Halo 4 this is very much a real gameplay changer. Take this scenario for example; I preordered LE from Australia and an “equally skilled USA player” purchases LE as well. We both get all specialisations unlocked when we rank to SR-50-130.

Now they have access to one time use per account so they don’t even have to purchase the drinks or chips to gain double XP from day one.

So how does ranked or social play fit in here exactly? The USA promotion based player is going to unlock additional loadouts, additional specialisations and I assume additional tactical/support upgrades as well because they’ll gain XP at double the rate.

I’m curious why this is limited to USA only? Very short sighted by the marketing department and the multiplayer balance team too.

It is available outside the US…

Not what the terms and conditions say…

> ELIGIBILITY: The Promotion is open to legal residents of the U.S. residing in one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia who are seventeen (17) years of age or older at the time of entry.

So where and how would I redeem from these product promotions in Australia for example?

I don’t know about Australia, but it’s available in Canada and the UK(I think). I’d imagine they’ll do something for Australia, I don’t know why they wouldn’t.
Canada.

As an Australian I would think that you’ve never turned off the “Good Connection” option for Halo. You may have also returned every multiplayer game that didn’t include a “Local Only” feature, since those games always connects you to US hosts.

By making that assumption, I would say that double xp for US doesn’t effect you at all. Since you’re playing with fellow Aussies, whose progress is just as fast as yourself.

If only that were true mate. Unfortunately with the objective population for me it’s a matter of just enter the playlist with NO filter options just to find a game at all.

On average Team Objective in Reach has less than 150-200 players online at night when I play AEST or GMT+10, whichever you prefer.

Never had such issues in Halo 2 or Halo 3 (until the last few months before Reach dropped).

For Slayer/BTB when I party up with friends I usually tick on Good Connection (GC) but even then we often have to untick the GC filter to just find a match within 15 minutes of searching.

Sure I like your idea but it’s not practical at all. I haven’t even entered into skill matching as well, which in Halo 3 TO 50 rank again I had to just NOT use GC filter to find games.

It’s available in Canada…

English, and I haven’t found anything.

So I visited my local Australian 7-11 and supermarkets to find no promotional offers for Doritos nor Mountain Dew. We do have both products here but not the promotion.

Also we have a V (energy drink) with a competition to win Halo 4 LE console but that’s it.
