No DLC Playlists? Are you kidding me?

Did you guys REALLY just removed Premium Battle from the game?

Jesus Christ. “Hey folks, remember that DLC you bought with your money one year ago so you could always play Halo Reach in it? Yeah, you’re screwed. You now have to stick to OUR -Yoink!- rules and OUR -Yoink!- settings in order to play them, so say buh bye to your vanilla Reach”

PS “Yes, we don’t care if you liked vanilla Reach, you already payed for that DLC so you’re screwed anyways. Oh, you don’t like our new settings? LOL @ you!”

What’s next 343? Putting your horrendous bleedthrough system in every -Yoink!- playlist?

I knew Reach had low population, but trying to bring players back like this is pathetic. Focus your attention in Halo 4 and mess that game as much as you want, but please, PLEASE don’t force players to pick one of the horrible “TU” playlists in order for DLC to show up.

Yes, I’m aware you “reweighted” DLC in normal playlists, good luck in getting it when so few people bought anything besides the Noble Map Pack.

You fail to understand what changes they made in November, making it so it will try to match you up against others with DLC before searching for those without DLC.

Plus the reweighting with improve it even more.

How about you try it out before assuming that you know it all.

the problem is that the system will TRY to match you up but may fail whereas PB was a guaranteed way to play the DLC maps, yanno? (except for when people voted for Hemorrhage. what the heck.)

i am really really sad to see Premium go as well. it was always a fun playlist for up to 6 (that wasn’t Invasion!) with the DLC maps and great credit payouts.

This.
I’m actually really annoyed that its being nerfed.

Yeah, it will try to match me with randoms without DLC. Premium Battle and Premium Slayer before it were 2 ways you could play DLC all the time in vanilla Reach settings.

Not anymore, since 343 feels the need to show off their fancy new maps and make everyone play a dumbed down Reach with random settings, mechanics and cheap kills.

The Defiant map pack outsold the Noble map pack.

i honestly feel like i wasted my money with the first 2 map packs. There was a reason they made them mandatory in the previous halo games.

Those -Yoink!- changes cant and wont get me on a game with DLC, doesnt matter how much you do it, people without DLC will appear as often

this is stupid! i play btb all day and i NEVER get the dlc maps!

Guys, please keep in mind that these changes JUST rolled out. Let’s wait a couple days before we jump to conclusions, ok?

You Know What They Say…

The game has been out for over a year. Why are there so many changes being made?

Also completely agree with this…

it’s very frustrating, as the release of CEA is the release of a new game - it’s got it’s own listing in the xbox live online activity charts and everything. Why should the release of this impact my ability to play DLC for Reach.

The DLC maps never come up in normal playlists, all that ever appears are the base maps and the various forge world maps. The removal of the ability to play Premium Slayer/Battle with just the Reach-specific DLC in effect makes those map packs redundant. What’s even worse is that you can still buy them independently on xbox live and there is no warning that you basically can’t play them without buying CEA or the CEA map addon as well.

I know that, technically, you can get the DLC maps in the normal playlist if a) everyone else has them, and b) they actually come up as one of the 3 options, but in reality that never happens. in all honesty, it’s about as close to selling an unplayable product as you can get without actually being a breach of terms of service - you are basically selling a product by itself that you can’t play by itself.

In the end, it’s a massive kick in the face of those people who are still loyal enough to the game to still be playing Reach, but haven’t bought CEA for whatever reason - it certainly doesn’t inspire loyalty to the product, that’s for sure.

you forgot something.

c) if everyone votes for it.

that was/is my biggest issue with PB right now is that maps like Hemorrhage or Powerhouse come up in the voting - why? then people actually vote for it. sigh. if i wanted to play Hem. or PH or Asylum, i’d go play BTB or TS! i want to play on Anchor 9, Highlands, etc! :frowning:

Ahh, i get you…yeah, the whole voting system is something i’m not a huge fan off anyway - it always starts off ok as people want to learn/explore each map, but then every community with map voting always ends up the sameway…the same few maps end up being picked over and over again. I’d much prefer a completely random choice.

My gripe is from the other side of things - I only have the Reach-specific DLC (and the premium battle/slayer playlists still actually only say the Noble and Defiant map packs are required), yet they are now locked out for anyone who doesn’t have the anniversary maps making the purchase of the Noble and Defiant maps feel like a complete waste of money.

yeah, the CEA maps being required for PB was a surprise to me too. i personally would be okay with Noble and Defiant being required and CEA being optional for that playlist but clearly, i’m not in charge of the hoppers.

If they’re getting rid of PB, are they adding another hopper? I know theywere at the limit, and had to dump FF Limited. Just curious as to why they would dump one playlist if they weren’t adding another somewhere. Maybe I should actually read the weekly update and not just peruse it.

I am terribly saddened by this. It was the one playlist where I could get a garuantee to play on DLC maps. First they removed FF Limited (the only challenging firefight gametype), now this…also they said they said that Vanilla Reach wasn’t gonna be touched…then they turn around and do this? WTF?!

> The game has been out for over a year. Why are there so many changes being made?

There are changes because vanilla Reach is broken and they try to fix it.
Not that hard to understand.
