Please don’t add any Daily/Weekly challenges in Halo 4. They were just a general annoyance in Reach. I eventually just stopped doing them because of how boring and repetitive they were.
If they can make them have more variety and do something more than just credit rewards, I think they could be a great addition.
Ok, so you don’t 343i to add them in Halo 4, just because you find that Optional Feature to be boring. Tell me something, how is that dude, holding the pistol to your head forcing you to use all of the Optional features, doing?
IMO weekly/daily challenges are stupid, I preferred Halo 3 where the challenge was to try and get onto Bungie favorites, it was allot more creative and you felt like you actually accomplished something once you got on there and the whole community could see it. That’s just my opinion, i’m not trying to start an argument with anyone so if you don’t agree with me just deal with it.

Don’t like them? Don’t do them. Simple as that. I hope they return in Halo 4, especially custom challenges. I love setting up custom challenges with friends, it adds a new dynamic to the game.

What if you could make custom challenges within the game? That would be awesome!!!

I have hoped this to happen since Custom Challenges were announced for Reach, it would make sense for it to happen to, such a feature along with ATLAS won’t go wasted.
Daily and weekly challenges are fine they should keep them.

Exactly! It would be such a cool little feature to have.

This.
LH Justin, you’re -Yoinking!- about something you can choose to do. If you don’t want to specifically pursue a challange, you don’t have to, and it’s still possible you can still get it just by playing normally (get one for killing a bunch of players online, and you play Grifball, you’ll get the challange within a couple of rounds of Grifball considering how many deaths occur in that).
You’re just like the people who -Yoinked!- about TES4: Oblivion having Fast Travel, which again is something completely optional.
I’m all for keeping them in, I’ve found that they add variety. It’s been great working together with some of my XBL friends on some of the crazier ones like the LASO challenges.
I got bored of the existing challenge system. They’re monotonous tasks that caused me to reduce Halo: Reach multiplayer to grinding. That shouldn’t be what it’s about. That said, it’s optional. I just won’t bother too much with them if they show up again. Unless they show up in a way that won’t feel like grinding for me.

“boring and repetitive in reach”
Solution: Remove them?
What?
I disagree
Challenges are what a lot of people play reach for
I think they keep it fun and not dull
Gives you something to work on and keeps matchmaking being played.
Keep them out, keep credits out as well. This was among one of the huge flaws in reach, the race for credits and ranks. Your rank only shows how much time you spend playing, and the credits, once you reach inheritor in reach there is no point to earning them, you might as well stop because let’s face it you can’t exactly spend them on anything. By the time you get to Inheritor you will most likely have had enough credits to buy the entire armory long before then! Custom challenges I think should stay in the confines of the reach game. They encourage farming, farming of campaign, firefight, and multiplayer. I think they were just implemented to help members of the reach community reach inheritor to experience the haunted helmet before halo 4 draws their attention away. If it weren’t for custom challenges I wouldn’t have bothered to get Longshot from gold to onyx, but using the dmr for headshot/kill challenges has worked very well so far. From the sounds of it, so many people just want another Halo Reach. I don’t want a pathetically flawed game with such a simplistic campaign. I don’t want people to boost constantly, to bring in an extra controller to sit idly by just so they can earn a little bit more to spend on that non-existant armour piece. You know what a 500+ multiplayer challenge in reach means? Twelve hours of grifball, same for 200 multikills. Get a LASO challenge? Load up that seperate hard drive for that checkpoint at the end of PoA. Is it so much to ask for a game where exploitation isn’t the main reason to play?
I want to play because it’s fun, I don’t want to play a certain gametype that isn’t fun just to get a challenge done. But that’s what it amounts to.
Sorry, but I completely disagree. The daily’s/weekly’s are awesome. At the very least, they’re something to do while you’re waiting for your friends to come online.
I personally want them to build on the custom challenges. Give us many more options and then they can take the best community submitted ones and make them weekly challenges.
I say keep them, they actually gave me more of an incentive to play easy mode firefight and Campaign. If my hopes come true, maybe I will have more replayability in Halo 4 without the achievements and if skulls are back. Who doesn’t like optional challenges that give you something to.
