Lots of people have been asking why can’t they just have a custom mapping control scheme? A couple of console games, like Skyrim, have it, so why can’t Halo. The reason is that buttom-combo-glitches have been abused in past Halo games, and 343 doesn’t want someone to create a layout that allows them to abuse it even more. That’s why.
I already knew this.

enough on this topic already, JESUS!
The reason there isn’t a custom button layout system is because with custom buttons people could exploit controls which with a normal layout would not be possible, i.e jump spots melee speed e.c.t a very good example of this is Call of Duty Elevator glitches, they really show to the full how a simple stick layout can access glitches that ruin the game.
And just when you thought the button layout Discussions were dead.
Bam every other thread discusses whats already been discussed.

i wrote that to further extend his point, i was agreeing with him
How would the location of the button on the controller make it so the glitch can happen?
You think Counter Strike on PC has glitches because of mappable controls? Really?
BXR would work even if B was Y, X was B, and R was L. It really doesn’t matter, because it’s all the same COMMAND in the game.
The ‘B’ button command, corresponds to a number in the game, no matter what button is used. Explain to me how letting you choose where that button is can affect the game, glitches only happen when the game isn’t tested.
That’s why beta’s are released, and that’s why people got mad at 343. You guys must not play PC games ever, where nearly EVERY game as custom controls.
