No Co-Op Campaign in 2021

Well, this is a bummer.

Solo campaign and free to play multiplayer WILL launch this holiday.

BUT, co-op campaign won’t launch until Season 2, roughly 3 months after.

Forge will also not launch until Season 3, apx. 3 months after that - or 6 months after launch.

The development update was interesting, but things are feeling a bit like Halo:5 launch again - and I think that it launched too light. Please pull this off 343 and bring Halo back to the glory days!

Sucks.

Just delay it at this point.

It makes sense. You want too stagger releases of features too keep players playing and not leaving overtime, sucks though the way they’re doing it.

Content updates should include new content, not content that was already in previous titles. New maps, new modes, etc., stuff not seen before. Waiting for things like Forge and Infection and Grifball was terrible in H5 and it’ll be terrible here.

Increased replayability. Lmao

To me, this isn’t a huge deal. I typically like to do my first play through solo to experience it for myself. Then I’ll either run through on legendary or hop on with friends. While yes, it’d be nice to have this and Forge at launch, I’m fine with it. Let them focus on getting this launch right and staggering the rollout over then next few months.

It has to launch at some point.

Absolutley unacceptable, delay the game immediately.

No

im baffled honestly. They got an additional year. I am so confused on what in the world they were going to launch with last year.

Edit: this was reactionary. I am still disappointed but ill get over it as co-op campaign was not my focus for launch and I dont forge. My thoughts and why they dont delay the entire game are later in the thread

Then it’s gonna die just like Halo 4 and 5 did.

I cannot believe they delayed the game an entire year and are STILL missing core features, this franchise needs a new developer ASAP.

Wow, I feel like we’ve done this before…

Not even splitscreen coop? I’d rather they just delay the game again and launch a finished game. Very disappointing. Even Halo 5 had coop campaign at launch.

I’d rather they delayed all of campaign. I always play Halo co-op. Except 5 as it didn’t have split screen and we only had 1 Xbox. It’s been 6 years and I’ll be -Yoink!- if another Halo game -Yoinks!- me over on co-op!

No need for a doomsday feeling for this. I’m sure there are a TON of other features that will be available at launch. 3 months is really not that long to wait for co-op, and 6 months for Forge (if forge is done the way I expect that it will be done), is not optimal, BUT will be worth the wait. I’m disappointed, but still excited.

That means the first few seasons won’t even be new content. Just like Halo 5s content for Months were touted as “LOOK! FREE CONTENT!” But really, it’s them finishing the game later and people getting fooled for it.

Halo 5 launched missing features like this and the game suffered horribly out of the gate. Infinite looks like it will have EVEN LESS at launch then 5.

This is history repeating itself.

Well at least it’s on the way and not there at all.

I swear, if we are still missing modes like infection for 7+ months again like H5 did I am going to implode.

There’s no way to say that any amount of delay time would be “enough”. You don’t know the nature of the difficulties they face. But that’s a separate issue from launching piece by piece. If campaign co-op and Forge aren’t ready, delay everything until they are. Take and extra 6 months if necessary. Launch with a good first impression and people won’t care how long it took to come out. Launch with a bad impression and people will keep brining it up forever.

Personally I could care less about Forge and Co-Op. I want to play Halo for the Multiplayer, but that’s just my opinion.

This is like hearing that the new Necrophagist album is finally coming out, but the drums and some arpeggios will be added in later as post-release content on Spotify.
