No closure after 6 years

TBH i think Endless is what the Precursor’s call themselves

Yes, I agree with you.

The audio log where the Harbinger says: “I will talk, and you will listen.” plus other little bits of information gives me big Precursor vibes(the Gravemind after incorporating the Primordial long ago, says this dialog line to John and Thel 'Vadam).

The Endless could potentially be the best enemy introduced. Depends on the writing, of course.

EDIT: I wasn’t too impressed by the reskinned Drones or Skimmers though

Were I to make an educated guess I would assume that their overall intention is to try and push people into the EU, using the game as a jumping off point. While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that concept (it’s effectively what the first series did) it shouldn’t be done at the expense of cohesive storytelling in the game itself.

The EU should exist for people who want to dig deeper, not be treated as a primer for each game.

I just can’t see the endless being the precursors. It doesn’t add up in the EU.

My point still is halo 6 should have concluded the Cortana arc and maybe introduced the endless or precursors. That would have set up the next 3 games.

The Endless and the Precursors don’t add up in the lore because we hardly know anything about either of them. Most of what we hear about the Precursors is legend or hearsay, which could mean the Forerunners(who won the war) have written the history books however they wanted.

I think if the writing is done correctly, they can make the Precursors into the The Endless. Albeit, the writing is going to be tough because the Precursors are practically Gods. Hopefully, they don’t just retcon more lore to make The Endless fit into the Precursors’ boots.

This doesn’t mean I agree with the story of Halo 5 or Infinite, but it means there could be some hope to salvage these story lines and find something good in them.

Cortana’s arc was selttled…

What are you talking about? She realized her mistake with trying to claim the manttle and sacrificed herself to save humanity…

MUCH better than halo 5

We could also possibly find out that Cortana talked with the Harbinger, found out some secret info about the Mantle in general, like it was never meant to be handed down to anyone because the Endless intended on keeping it but the Forerunners used the Mantle story to justify a war against not only the Precursors but Humanity as well to their population back home. Which might shine more light on why she sporadically sacrificed herself.

The Harbinger is not pleased with the Forerunners, and it seems like humanity and the banished/covenant kind of got caught up in the middle of it all.

Just brain storming possibilities of what may or could happen.

Actually we know quite a bit about the precursors from the forerunner saga. Plus all the little tidbits from the games that sound like the flood and the precursors are one in the same, albeit a different form.

Yea and that end is here in this game with a small trail of her maybe in the future, but only as small bits really (IMO).

What boggles my mind is that they have a decent outline for a galaxy hopping story to bring some sort of closure to the events of the previous 2 games complete with some potentially great/shocking moments. Between the destruction of the space station with a large number of Spartans, the destruction of Doisac, the actual discovery of 07 and the battle resulting in the destruciton of the Infinity complete the surprise ending that had Atriox showing up when Cortana was expecting Chief.

The potential for Promethean vs Banished multi-faction encounters in a proper linear campaign with actual set pieces.

It was all there but no, we had to have tedious discount Far Cry instead.

We only know about the Flood, a mutated form of Precursor powder found in derelict ships by ancient humanity.

The Precursors were god-like beings that used Neural physics to pretty much do anything they wanted. They could hold star light in-between dimensions to create physical Star Roads which stretched out like massive tentacles throughout the Milky Way and possibly the Large Magellanic Cloud and more of the universe(the Flood used these roads to fight the Forerunners in ancient history)… they seeded planets for fun, the reasons? there are several theories… they were benevolent beings that wanted to protect life, or were they malevolent space lords who came back to the seeded planets to gather resources in the future? The most accepted theory, is they were a being we can’t even possibly understand. They are emotion and thought, personified into a living entity. They look for the “sweetness” of life. Which is both pleasure and pain equally. They believe the universe is truly alive, and it yearns for creation or specifically sentient life, so the universe itself can also experience our joys and fears.

These Precursors could be tainted, some were bad like the tortured and imprisoned Primordial, some were good like the two mortally wounded Precursors whom both decided to naturally die off. Their remains became plant life on the planet they died on, which the Librarian took samples of and planted on a different planet ideal for the Precursors to come back to life in the future but with a clean conscious and a new chance at life… (possibly the Endless)

I think Time manipulation is going to be used, but other than that, I’m not sure what else is going to happen… just speculation…
