Anyone else agree? I personally am tired of monk chant to the extreme.
DISAGREE!!!
Personally, I liked it. It made the game seem more foreign and mysterious.
You know, I really like the monk chant, but it definitely had its time. I’m all for something new - so long as the theme itself stays true (and of course evolves).
It’s part of what lets everyone know “This is Halo.”
It should stay.
Monk chant makes the game feels more mysterious so if you dont like it i suggest you to turn the volume off when you play halo

I STRONGLY AGREE WITH THIS DISAGREEMENT.
I mean, come on. Look at the games without the monk chant…

Well, not exactly. This may be true for the actual notes themselves (hence why Reach didn’t include them), but I think changing it up a bit like they did in the Halo 4 trailer was a good idea. It added a darker, more evil and heinous feel while staying true to the theme.
Having a Halo without monks chanting is like having a Halo without Master Chief. Oh wait…
TAKE AWAY ALL THE THINGS
I’m a little lost, What are the Monk Chants?
I still want there to be some monk chants, but I also want them to add a different twist to the whole Halo theme that we know and love.

You know how in almost all halo songs you hear a choir of people chanting in the background like this.
lol no. The monk chat is the first thing i Noticed when i turn on halo. It is the primary halo song. Movies don’t ditch their themes, games don’t ditch their themes. Were you tired of the bond music too? too bad, because they still use it.
Monk chant is in a way iconic to Halo, whenever I hear it, I immediately think of Halo, I think it should stay

Thanks, I did notise that, I just never new that is what is called.
OP, can you clarify - Do you mean the monks themselves or the theme that they sing? Because, people, I don’t believe there were monks in the Halo 4 theme, yet it was the same theme.

I mean the monks chanting. The guy was a little into his own style. The Halo theme is fine, if it isn’t just repeated and remixed for nearly as encounter in the game. I think only the Flood and in Reach was there non-monk music.

And the ODST music.

Right.
I liked the monk chant. I think it helped everyone recognize what Halo was.
