I Google’d (not Bing’d) why I saw an ‘August Update’ flash on my screen when I fired up Anniversary. I bought it last Christmas 2011, I paid the XBox Live stuff so I could play it online. When I discovered the 8 on 8 play…I think it was called BTB it’s all I ever played.
I didn’t play campaigns or any of the other maps, just BTB. Now they’re gone Looks like you can only play Classic and Firefight online now. I’m a novice, I’m only OK at Halo but it’s enjoyable to play, I don’t have Halo friends online so I can’t get 15 other people online to play BTB. I saw you moved that to “Forge” or something on the main menu…maybe it was always there?
I then noticed a forum moderator locked another post I was going to post on. It had people complaining about these changes. I think it’s unfair nobody wants to hear from the complainers like me! Why would anyone make the game worse? I waited thinking, well…maybe the options will popup but now it’s well into September Very poor form Halo, very poor form indeed.
Well, here I go. Cancelling my xbox live account…there’s no point to having it since I can’t do anything but play 4 on 4 on the same 3 stale maps with no trucks to drive (Classic). When Halo 4 comes out, IF you have 8 on 8 again I’ll probably buy but I’m not happy right now. Halo BTB is a stress releaver for me, I can switch my brain off for hours!
Again, I think it’s shameful to lock the forum with people’s comments just because you don’t want their complaints heard. Doing that you might alienate users who might not buy Halo 4.

BTB will be in Halo 4, and is in every other Halo game. I think you’ll be alright.
We’re not locking threads in an effort to stifle complaints. It’s just annoying when you have multiple threads about the exact same topic come up again and again, so we’re simply redirecting them to one “megathread” in an effort to consolidate and make things less cluttered.
I’m also just as disheartened by the removal of Anniversary BTB (as well as other playlists that were removed), as it was a big favorite of mine. But, BTB will be making a return in Halo 4!
