No blood no flood?

Not a lot of blood in the gameplay. I guess it’s going for a T ratting what means no flood.

Unless we get a flood dlc because dlc doesn’t get ratings

I think you’re making a lot of jumps to conclusions.
The gameplay demo was nowhere near finished when it was shown to us. That includes VFX such as blood.

As for T rating meaning no flood. I think that’s completely just speculation you’re making. There can be flood in the game with it still being a T rating or whatever rating the game will receive. Let’s not state things as facts when we don’t have all the details at hand.

Good points you made. We indeed don’t have all the details and we should think twice before panicking with jumps to conclusions.

The demo build was a few weeks old and the game was going to come out in months. There was an article somewhere saying that they were content wiilth what was shown at the time. Everyone who was saying the game wasn’t near completetion was wrong.

The delay saved this game. Maybe with more time now we’ll see more alien blood, but certainly not human blood on the floor as it’s T.

It would be lame, as we’d go into it knowing they won’t be able to show the true horrors of the flood and have to keep parts toned down. Halo Wars was allowed to keep flood blood in a T game because the camera was far away, but shooting a human infected form in Infinite to see no blood would be lame.

Honestly every shooter should be rated M, we’re killing people for crying out loud why would there be no blood. The only exception I could see for a rated T shooter would be if it had cartoony graphics like Fortnite.

hopefully more alien blood, and maybe less human blood to keep it T rating
i personally did like the hallways coated with covenant blood though lol
also flood do not really bleed as much? i think? but the dismemberment of the flood is likely going to be a M rating though.

With the Banished in play, I can possibly see an M rating due to their brutal nature and the lore makes them seem a lot more deadlier than the former Covenant.

Thing is, standards have changed when it comes to ESRB rating. What was once M rated could probably be T rated these days. It’s possible that Halo 1-3 could’ve been rated T if they were released today.

I mean…

The Uncharted series had undead zombies and Nathan Drake saying “sht" and "ashole” every other word. Yet it’s rated T. The Batman Arkham series (excluding Knight) had disturbing images of inmates turning into abominations, Scarecrow’s hallucinations, and Joker’s creepy smile while holding a knife. It’s also rated T.

The blood, gore, and language in the previous Halos likely doesn’t quite make the threshold of what M rated games are now. The ratings definitely have changed with video games as well as television and movies. If Halo had more of a focus on the gore aspect of the game then I would say it would deserve an M rating. For example if 343 were to show brutes torturing humans and pulling them apart and eating them the way the lore depicts then it could easily be rated M but I doubt they would show that. Even the flood parts of the game you don’t actually see things like internal organs splattered everywhere even when you blow them up with a grenade or rocket launcher.

I’m sure we’ll expect some blood here and there when the game is released but Halo’s never really been known for a lot of ‘gore’ per se; like GoW or Doom for example.

I don’t mind the blood in the game but I certainly want to fight the flood again.
Since it is some sort of reboot, I reeeeally hope there are flood again and that they provide a similar experience to the original trillogy.

The more factions, the more variety and fun (provided that all factions are fun to fight)

If it’s a T rating it’s safe to assume the Flood also didn’t make the cut. Dismemberment, visible bones sticking from dismembered bits and limbs, flood transformation animation. See of those alone would be an instant M rating.

Granted it’s still too early to tell for sure but given the reason 343i gave for no hostile wildlife it’s already not looking good. On the flip side in the lore the Flood are on Zeta Halo, and that some of the raw sounds that the sound team has released do sound like the Flood.

Well it’s been nearly a year since the demo was shown with the backlash and 343i have been working on it a lot ever since the delay so hopefully 343i actually take fan feedback. Be kind of frustrating if they make the Flood ‘kid friendly’.

Now let’s see 343’s creativity in doing what they want with their game, like Phil Spencer was saying for first party Xbox game developers will have.
We want Flood,we want blood but then also we wanted playable Elites. Is someone from 343 even looking at their Forums to see what the majority of Halo fans want?

Drake also said “d*ck”, like every 5 minutes, and zelda OOT had the shadow temple with pools of blood, and it was rated E.

honestly the flood could well be in infinite. whilst playing halo 1,2 I never really found them frightening or more violent than the average enemy. and to be frank even when shown the gameplay demo there was blood. that blue stuff that appeared when chief was shooting the grunt wasnt there for the sake of it. however I would like to see the blood stick to surfaces after being spayed everywhere.
so realistically i think they could have flood in infinite and still maintain their teen rating. and who knows maybe they might reclassify it to M- MA?

Devs would probably go home with PTSD after visiting these forums sometimes.

Besides, ESRB changes over time. It’s not unlikely that what was M 20 years ago, is still M today.

I think Bungie Halo games would not have been so successful if there was not blood and flood in it.They were not pressured to make a T- rated game and had full creativity freedom.
Now i think 343 will aim for T-rating like with H5 before just to have more younger players buy microtransactions.

I really feel like Halo being Rated T is just hamstringing its potential. I know there are people who say a game doesn’t need to be M to be good, and that’s true, but it does make it harder. Especially when you consider Halo is a game that deals with war, genocide, child soldiers, and an alien parasite that consumes and mutates living things. Keeping it T just prevents the game from delving into these topics past just a surface level approach and becomes far harder to capture that feeling of immersion.

I don’t really think that there is, and 343 has proved time and time again that they will happily lose 10 hardcore fans they’ve had for two decades if it means they can pick up 15 fresh faces, and keeping the rating below M helps them with that. Really sucks, I think a true spiritual reboot would be sci-fi horror again.
