No blood? Multiplayer reveal trailer

I watched the entire Halo Infinite Multiplayer Reveal Trailer several times, but I’ve noticed that there’s very little blood (if any). I tried pausing it at several scenes, and maybe I missed it?

Not that there needs to be huge amounts like the classic/OG Halo CE, but it would be a great detail to have more of it than what was shown. I’m thinking that Infinite may be released as a T rating by the ESRB, and reminded me of Halo 5 (Halo 5 was rated T and had very minimal blood). To get a wider audience, they probably had to tone it down quite a bit.

Not exactly a deal-breaker, but I’m definitely in favor of more blood to add to the realism. Even just somewhat more would be great.

Edit: some people below have pointed out that yes, there is a little bit of blood after all but not very much. Still would like a bit more added.

Yeah noticed that as well. Sort of expected it. They’re trying to expand their audience with the T rating. I would prefer the blood also but not really a deal breaker especially if it brings more fans in.

It’s fine for me. It doesn’t really change the experience for me however I can see for others it can.

Probably for the multiplayer, since it’s F2P to pull in more people. Maybe blood with purchase of full game?

You can see it there. Personally, I’m glad it’s mostly not apparent.

Most of the time in real combat you wouldn’t even notice it until the fighting dies down anyway. I’m glad it’s understated and not over the top!

Yeah I mean, it’s not like DOOM or Gears or anything. Halo’s always been pretty tame in regards to this sort of thing, so I’m not at all surprised.

Good eye. Like other’s say, Halo has never been over the top with blood (Except in CE) but it wouldn’t surprise me if they’re trying to snag a T-Rating again. I’d say just have an option to toggle off blood/gore splatters.

That video shows how blood has changed throughout the games, with Halo 5 removing it entirely when shooting bodies.

I would be happy with any level of blood pre-Halo 5, it’s not a HUGE deal but it’s weird and immersion-breaking to shoot someone and have zero blood come out of them.

A big part of the appeal of Halo is having a reactive sandbox and exploring a world that reacts to your actions. The addition of blood makes the violence feel more weighty and impactful, like when you see a bunch of marines dead in pools of blood, or a squad of Covenant wiped out with alien blood everywhere. Blood makes the scene look and feel like a battlefield. I think this was a major contributor to how Halo:CE built atmosphere and why it felt like a horror game at times.

I dont expect blood because this game is rated T which in my opinion is a poor choice considering what the flood does to ppl.

^ yep. Here’s a screenshot for ease

There is some blood, but it’s just hard to tell because it happens so quickly

Ok cool nice to see blood again. Honestly I was prepared to not have it in at all

Ah cool, thanks for pointing that out! I forgot about the playback speed setting on YouTube, since the video shows everything pretty quick on normal speed.

I’m a classic fan going way back and, while I don’t appreciate a lot of decisions 343i has made with the series, I have never understood how people miss the gore so much. It has no bearing on gameplay OR narrative whatsoever. It’s something that I never paid much attention to in any of the games that it was heavily featured in- it’s absolutely not what I’d consider to be an important piece of Halo’s unique DNA.

Yes, Microsoft and 343i have steadily been toning down many of the M rated elements of Halo ever since Bungie left the helm, and yes, in other areas that sometimes bothers me (narratively, to be specific). But the gore being toned down is a non issue as far as I’m concerned. I’d say the crowd that’s been moaning about it since H5 should just take the W that it’s coming back at all.

There should definitely be more, but have the Gear of War options if you want all, some, or none to show up (same with the vulgar filter). Maybe leave it on none by default if they really wanted to pander to concerned parents/kids?

A little blood would not be there and to tell the truth we are a few months from the launch so I see it as something likely.

I think they nailed the amount of blood, it isn’t the gushing waterfall of CE but for a quick headshot it seemed realistic enough.

There’s a lot of blood on unshielded hits that look really nice and make the guns feel more impactful, but I wished the blood would splatter on the ground like the old games.

It’s not the biggest deal, but maybe it’s something that’ll be added closer to release. I at least hope the Alien blood stays around. Halo 5 didn’t have human blood, but Alien blood was fine.

A fix would be for a toggle to turn blood/gore on or off. Like others have stated, blood isn’t a staple of Halo, however, I wouldn’t see an issue with a toggle for those that want that experience. And who knows maybe it is a feature that really hasn’t been talked about because it’s in the settings/options menu, who knows…
