No Back-up

I’m starting to get frustrated about this.

My teams always seems to stop backing me up or just not back me up at all. I’ve already tried backing them up instead but when we get into a fight they just run away and leave me again, even after not taking a bullet.

What’s worse is that when they do help me they dont shoot the enemy, rather they try power punching them and end up being shot down.

Is this a problem for anyone else and does anyone have any advice?

If you go in by yourself, you run the risk of bad teammates.

The problem with Reach matchmaking is that it does not actually match players based on skill level. When you search alone, you run the risk of having very low-skilled teammates.

Yeah I just had a troll for a teammate: When a game on Spire was almost over and we were about to win and i had the most kills i acidentally shot him with a fuel rod and he booted me. I waz mad.

You never see anymore people playing as a team. All you see now is a bunch of lone wolfers all allied by the color of their armor. I think this has to do with things like people never having mics and of course people being in party chat. Back in Halo 2’s days, everyone always had a mic and always worked and played together as a team.

Halo has become more of a lone wolf game now.

Combine that with the fact that team work doesn’t reward you with credits, and you’ve nailed it.

If you go in by yourself you WILL get bad teammates.

=)

My advice is to play with ATLEAST 1 buddy. Preferably a whole time. If not, stick with Rumble Pit/Living Dead

Reach as a game actually tries to be more team focused. It wouldn’t be a bad thing if the way they went about it wasn’t to handicap good players (especially in Vanilla) to a point where it doesn’t matter how much better than your opponent you are, if they outnumber you the chances are you aren’t going to win any 1v2’s. I guess they just didn’t take into considerations that lone wolves are going to be lone wolves, and trying to force teamwork by limiting individual skill isn’t going to change that.

And that’s why Halo 2 and 3’s ranking system work, because it encouraged working together as a team, to get the same reward.

Yeah I think teamwork amongst random players is a thing of the past.

I got to admit I don’t feel very confident when searching by myself as the main trend is getting people that don’t want to work as a team.

I really only play Halo Reach when I have a friend or two to play with because that way I know I have a few people watching my back as well as providing a fun online experience.

Halo 2 was great. Your team wins, your rank goes up. Your team loses, you gain nothing and your rank goes down. None of this experience/credit sillyness, but it was also in a time where people worried less about their overall stats.

Reach’s progression system rewards time spent in game rather than outcome, so lots of people decided not to worry about teamwork/victory but just try to make their personal stats the best.

Sure do, try out for my clan lol

Trying to get everybody trained up during Reach in preparation for Halo 4.

So true bout H2 and Reach. I’m probably the crappyest inheritor just bc of time spent playing Reach.

Also seems to be more ppl are taking teammates shields down without betrayal as well.

I agree.

I think the most non lone wolf playlist is team objective. I play it all the time, and sometimes I get matched up with 4 other people on their own, we destroy the other team, and end up staying together for at least a good 3 matches.

People are to worried about thier K/D and credits to help you cos you might ‘steal’ thier kill

Try joining a clan. Plenty about. No more randoms.
