No Assist for doing damage?

Since the release I have seen this a thousand times as I’m sure others have as well. I will shoot an enemy and no doubt be doing damage to them, then a teammate will end up killing them.

After this happens I will not get an assist for it. Is this a visual thing where it’s just not showing it and I get credit or just not getting it?

This includes today after the fixes to desync.

I think you need to do 50% of the damage or more to get an assist?
