No Armor lock?

Ok, maybe I will accept this and move on… but the announcement I just heard of no armor lock is very disappointing. I love armor lock. It was amazing in early Reach and made me feel like a BA no matter what. It was one of the most fun and interesting abilities to me, and it was insanely fun to beat someone down after coming out of it. It was very tactical. Annoying to some. But beatable. The new version seems to be even better balanced… so why is the argument that it destroys flow? You see someone armor locking, it adds a snag, but its an intense feeling for players watching the locked player, and the locked player as well. It changes flow. Makes the scene more dynamic, will a teammate save me? Will I die? The feeling armor lock provides is something I will miss. And I won’t cry that they include it for my sake, I will hold out hope for something similarly cool as wrecking a ghost who got too eager in the same way i do with armor lock.

U are joking right?

Seriously?
Armor lock did nothing good but delay the kill…
I’m personally glad they took it out because why would i wanna freeze in combat?

People complained about it being in Halo, now they’re complaining about it being out of Halo. There is truly no satisfying some people.

I am glad that AL is no longer in existence in Halo. The only thing it could be used for that wouldn’t be aggravating is for anti-vehicles, and even that’s iffy.

I liked AL too haha Evade was the paper against the rock. thats what 343 thinks of Rock-Paper-Scissor AAs will be like in halo4 like it was in reach. each AA was to counter the other. you remove one and then the whoel thing collapses.

The worst AA that could ever be in halo.

Lies, it was terrible glad they tossed that-Yoink!- into hell never want to see it again!

In campaign, it was fine. (Even though Brutes have it, which is ridiculous.)

Multiplayer- Get rid of it!

Oh no! My crutch is gone, now I will die all game long :’(

I have no problem with armor lock. I never use it (except in campaign) and it isn’t hard to kill ALockers. Plus, ALocking when a Ghost is boosting towards you is really fun (though most of the time, I’m the one in the Ghost).

But I can see why 343 removed it. Too many people disliked it, and in the game industry majority wins over minority. The majority had a point here too - if you didn’t know how to, ALockers could be a pain, and it was seriously overused, causing some other AAs (which were better in my opinion), like Evade, to be tossed aside.

So 343 removing it is like 343 removing dual-wielding. I liked the feature, I’m disappointed that it’s gone, but I understand why they did it.

Not always the majority. they anti-AL people where minorities back when halo reach came out but once bungie/343 started listening to them then they got the center of attention. for example i made a poll about Dual wielding and just as expected. people that support something usually come into a post give a quick comment and a +1 on the vote but those who hate it will rant for hours. for example my poll showed that 66% of players want Dual wielding. but yet the comments show only the complainers are the ones posting.

Another one i have is about Firefight. people where giving their ideas with mine and this was before the announcement. majority loved FF and very few. like a good 1% minority hated FF and wanted it removed but now that they are saying no FF now all of a sudden the minority group now ends up becoming the majority. and same went with elites and fire bombs. if 343 were to change that for next game i bet you that the AL lovers would take up the forum. its only those that are supported by the devs talk all big but the second that the devs turn on them, most go quietly into the night.

Because AL was hated so much on the forums because the same person would post 3 to 5 comments a day about how they hated it, it generated the hate to become the majority after the devs listened to them. now that is why people that are ok with AL are the minority. and unfortunantly the people that support DW, elites and FF will also soon become the minority on the forums. its said but true. most post are supported by the minority so to get accurate results the devs need to go online on xbox and get direct people’s opinion and not the forum always because thats where you get honest answers.

Armor Lock was an abomination that should have never been introduced in a Halo game. It was the most nooby thing that I have ever seen. “Suck at Halo? Use Armor Lock!” It was taken away for a reason, and I’m glad they had the balls to do it, unlike Bungie.

Sorry for armor locking.

No but really, some people use it tactically. Dont get me wrong, i still hate it with my guts, but it can be used right. Such as going into armor lock, go out, drop a grenade at your feet or the enemies, armor lock again. Easy kill.

Its still anoying as -Yoink!- though.

I can’t believe this thread was even made… It doesn’t matter though. Even if armor lock were in Halo 4, the people that use it lack the skill to kill someone without Reach’s auto aim. I am so glad that it will actually take skill to shoot once again!

Bungie took it out of certain playlists, 343 just gave it a title update lol. and there will always… ALWAYS be a noob AA. now that AL is gone. Forerunner vision with be the new noob AA and if that gets nerfed enough or taken away then Camo and Jet pack will be the next AA. walk to how things work around here.

You can’t be serious. Defending armor lock like it is actually a legitimate strategy rather than a noob panic button that disrupts the flow of gameplay. Get out of here…

Awww. No more crutch? Fear not; just about everything in this game will still cater to bad players.

LOL, now there’s officially a complaint about everything.

Yeah, even if they removed AAs altogether, then something else would become the new “noob (insert gameplay feature here)”. It was dual-wielding/hijacking in H2, bubble shields in H3, and AL/ Evade (and a bit of jetpack) in Reach. (Evade wasn’t even used most of the time… how can it be overpowered?).

Whatever new thing H4 implements, people will soon accuse something of being “nooby” even if it was fine.

Even if they strip Halo 5 down to basically just Combat Evolved with better graphics… people will find something to complain about. Like saying the Needler is “nooby” or something. Or worse, accusing Warthog passengers.

Halo 5 player: You there, in the Warthog seat! You’re a noob for being a Warthog passenger!

Passenger: … What?

Halo 5 player: Only noobs are passengers! Being a passenger is imbalanced and unfair, because it makes you harder to kill!

Passenger: Being a passenger was a feature from the start.

Halo 5 player: Yes, but it was a terrible feature that should not have been in the game! It encourages camping near vehicles, gives passengers an unfair speed advantage, and allows them to fire from the hip!

Passenger: What.

Driver: You’re an idiot.
