First off I would like to say I am a halo fan through and through. Like many of you I enjoy playing the halo series, not only that I love the unique things the games offers. One of those things being armor customization, which both I and others find to be a crucial aspect of the games as it’s something that was thought of first and has yet to be mimicked in any games with the amazing magnitude that halo can bring to the table. At first when I hear this I thought it was some rumor started out by someone who had nothing better to do. Now that I know the rumors are true I am appalled that 343 industries would take out such a main feature of halo. If this halo is to have a voice of its own keep it something we can recognize, something we have grown up with and come to know and love. In online the player voice is conveyed by their armor. Don’t let the voice of halo 4 squelch the voice of the players. The unique armor you had sent a message to everyone, that message usually was who you are on a team, or free for all game. When playing a game, you can tell which team mate is your friend easily, this way you can share vehicles, you can support each other, and you can see if it was them who took your kill. Going back to the vehicles, if you are gunning a warthog you want to know that you have a competent driver, someone you can trust to get you kills, and avoid danger in the coolest way possible. Without unique armor you can just get in some random player vehicle and they could be the worst driver in history. Or worse, they could be that one person to drive you off the edge for no reason. Next in custom games when you’re playing infection you want to hide out or explore with someone you know someone you can trust to cover you as hordes of zombies try to infect you. The way you tell this is by their armor, seeing that unique appearance that screams out to you yeah that’s a friend. Granted the name and tags do appear on top of a teammates head, but a good majority of players don’t look at that, they look at the easily recognizable unique armor they know they can trust. Armor customization is a unique aspect that sets halo aside from most other games. This feature is truly a cornerstone of halo, take it away and it’s going to be conforming to what the rest of shooters are now. Take this away and there’s going to be no difference from playing halo as opposed to playing any other shooter games. Some of the new features being added to halo I personally welcome, I feel they could enhance the gameplay overall. But removing a key part of halo is not a place that 343 need to take the game. Taking out armor customization in halo 4 is like taking the flavor out of a soda and just selling carbonated water. As I’m writing this I am still in disbelief that it’s actually going to be taken out, this feature that has always been available, to be taken away is just unacceptable. It is to my understanding that a main reason for its removal is the cyber bullying that takes place due to the armor some choose to wear. While this is an understandable concern, it is something that will always happen no matter what. No matter what precautions are taken this will always occur it’s just the way some people are. If armor customization is sacrificed for this what’s next? When will the shotgun be taken out for the same reason? When will the sniper and rockets be taken out for them being to “noobish”, when will the tank get removed because it is “overpowered”? When will the halo rings be taken out because the message they send is too negative? If this is the start, then where does it end? When will the voice of Halo become lost in the sea of other shooter games, when will halo be nothing more than game that collects dust in a closed drawer? This is the fate I want to avoid at all costs, I don’t want to see my favorite game series reduced to some game I wouldn’t ever think of buying. I want it to be the game that everyone wants reserve a year in advance just because they know the mass amount of people who will buy it will leave no extra copies for anyone without it reserved. I want Halo to be the game that sets the bar for all other games, like it always has been in the past. I pray that the words of this halo fan are not spoken on deaf ears. I hope that this argument will have some effect, because a halo without armor customization to me is not halo at all.

On Topic, I don’t know where you heard that. It’s been confirmed since the First Look trailer, even before, perhaps. A picture of a Spartan showed a pouch on his hips that the others didn’t. GI informed us after their vist to 343 for a couple of games of TS, as well, so either you know a complete idiot, or someone really obnoxious, like that kid on that playground who tells you of that if you die enough times, you’ll unlock easy mode on a Mario game, or unlimted ammo Rocket Launcher in the sea on Trident.
