no animal abuse plz

clearly there will be animals in Halo Infinite, and of course that will be cool and all, but please just leave out the ability to harm or violate the animals. I believe that it could provide immersion for the game or whatever, but it will just inevitably create problems for the game and the people who play it. You can say it sounds contradictory because Halo is a game that’s became famous for humans shooting other humans in the face, but honestly that’s just a different story and isn’t nearly the same as killing dear or beautiful rhinos or dogs.

Keep the ability to kill animals. I believe Reach even had an achivement for it.

Reach only had giant alien monster things that didn’t really even qualify as animals. Rewarding people for abusing and mistreating animals is the last things Halo needs.

The Gueta is a gentle creature so long you keep your distance… Reach also included Moas which were quite humorous to mow down. I don’t think players should be rewarded for killing wildlife, but the ability to kill them should remain. Most of these animal species will probably be fictitious making it ridiculous to remove this ability out of sake for animal abuse.

Yes they did, the Moas looked a lot like ostriches. And there was indeed an achievement for killing 7 of them. “Keep it clean”. The ability to kill animals has existed in previous games. Halo 3 guardians map had 4 winged birds that flew around and cawed, you could kill them. Halo 2 and 3 had killable Koy fish in multiplayer maps, Halo 5 has giant bugs, I know there are others too. It’s a neat little extra step that adds to the immersion. Halo Infinite needs killable animals too. Don’t like it? You don’t have to kill any. Everyone wins.

that is not sufficient. I am a peaceful Buddhist and people abusing animals is a violation of my beliefs and to reward those players would only be a mockery of all that I stand for. If I have to play a game where people can just murder innocent creatures willy nilly, then i will not purhcase the game and I will cry.

I don’t give a crap what you are, it isn’t relevant to anybody but you. Now, I’m no expert on Buddhism, but I’m pretty sure violence of any kind against any creature, including humans, is against your religion, I would even venture a guess that alien life forms would be included were we to make contact with any. So already, the ENTIRE Halo franchise violates your religion. Here’s the reality, you are saying that it’s ok to be violent towards sentiant, imaginary alien species, it’s ok to be violent towards imaginary human beings, it’s even ok to be violent towards real human beings portraying themselves as imaginary human beings on screen, but it’s not ok to be violent towards made up species of imaginary animals? That’s a gross lack of logic my friend. Furthermore, as it’s all make believe and in no way, shape, or form, real, you are, at the core of your argument, saying that violence on screen is the same as violence in real life. This means that you believe that shooter style video games are a source of violence in real life, which then means you should objectively be against the Halo series, yet here you are enjoying it. You are a deeply conflicted person whom should not be taken seriously by anybody here, especially not 343.

wow, that’s really mean. I just wanted to express my thoughts on the matter, but apparently I’m just a conflicted person who should not be taken seriously by anybody. That really hurts. wow.

Not going to judge you or anything but Halo is a franchise that has tons of innocent killings within the games, books, tv series, and other mediums. The developers who make it have a certain idea/dream in their mind when they create the world. In their world that have given the player to harm almost anything. You can go rouge and kill a bunch of marines if you want to do so. I don’t think they are change that because a small minority of people may be offended. Also, if it is a religious reason, it shouldn’t be forced on other people. Halo is made by people from various faiths and religions. Let them make that decision.

Hot Chili Fries

You are against the killing of animals because you are a “peaceful” person, but in a game where the purpose is killing, this thread is unnecessary.
