Its impossible to aim even in training mode no aim assist
Agreed. I know its there on some weapons but its totally inconsistent. Needs balance and polish.
Bump this thread, Ive been saying that aim assist needs an overhaul since the 1st flight.
try changing the dead zones some one told me that this changes the aa you get

It’s not enough. The aim assist is near nonexistent. Needs to have a bit more strength.
The only hope we have of 343 even responding to this issue is if we keep making posts about it. Fortunately I have seen dozens if not well over a hundred different posts or comments from individuals who say that aiming is atrocious. Don’t let this issue fade away until it is completely solved, it is very make or break for a LOT of players.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen more about this issue but apparently people playing on xbox one are either playing an old build or with their aim assist turned off/nearly non-existent. I played on Series X and the aim assist was very strong whereas my buddy played on xbone and was having a lot of trouble. We did a test with the bots in training mode that proved it.
I’m playing on the Series X, and the only time that aim assist is even barely noticeable is when I have all the dead zones set to 0… Which of course also means I have a tiny bit of drift even on a brand new controller lol.
Do decent in Infinite test, go back to any of the previous Halo games and I do significantly better
I myself have also noticed that there is 0 aim assist on infinite. I’m playing on pc with a controller so I’m not sure if it’s just a pc thing or if it’s the same on console as well. All I know is I’m wrecking these mouse and keyboard players for the most part without it so I can’t imagine what it will be like when it gets added. Also correct me if I’m wrong but the sniper 5x zoom is either WAY more than 5x or the maps are just too small to be having a sniper in the first place.

Lowering axial dead zone to zero seems to improve aim assist a bit still not a fix tho…

That’s true this is the biggest issue in infinte right now and 343 needs to seriously address this before launch don’t even get me started on the sidekick…
The aim assist needs to be increased. It’s so hard to aim.
Yeah there is something thats off. Been trying to get 3 stars on commando level 3. Almost impossible on console if you are not extremly lucky. Just look up the world record on pc. Pc player have a huge advantage with precision weapons atm
The aim assist in these flights is terrible. I’ve played halo exclusively on controller and console since it came out. Haven’t switched to mouse and keyboard for mcc or halo 5 but this is crazy. The only usable weapon for controller console players is the AR which seems overpowered in this current build of the game. I’m switching to keyboard and mouse for this game when it does release but good luck to anyone sticking with controller if 343 does not fix this.
Inb4 pc players rebuttal.
(But I def agree, OP. It’s practically non existant)
It’s not non-existent, but its way less than every previous Halo for sure.
If that’s 343’s decision, for some reason (increase the skill gap, make the game more geared towards eSports players etc), that’s fine, they just need to come out and f’ing say it. Because as a diehard fan of the series since MacWorld 2000, I feel we’re owed at the very least, an explanation for changing one of the core features of a 20+ year series.

This is very interesting. I’m on the original xbone and there’s no aim assist.

I managed to get noticable aim assist in target practise, but its gone in online bot slayer. Playing on xbox one x
I agree, especially with how many mouse and keyboard players there are and how fast the game is. I feel like xbox players are at a sever disadvantage. I understand keeping things competitive, but I think there is plenty of aspects of that already. This game is simply not approachable for the casual player yet and I’ve been playing halo consistently for 20 years!
I was wondering that as well. I felt at times like I was playing PUBG.
