In Halo Infinite the design of the Skirmishers is wrong, for whatever reason they just took the Jackal model and put it in some different armor and threw red hair on them, but that’s not how Skirmishers are supposed to look. Skirmishers are supposed to be more avian with black skin and their mouths are supposed to have a completely different design from Jackals. They also don’t have hair, they’re supposed to have feathers. It’s a nitpick that most people wouldn’t even notice, but it really bugs me and I hope they fix it at some point during the 10 year life of the game.
Would be nice to see some more armor and color variety for them like in Reach as well.
lol the ten year life of the game.
Oh Lord… the modern gaming industry is just such trash.
I agree that modern gaming has taken a nose dive, but Infinite being a 10 year game means that game will hopefully receive more content. One the one hand this allows the player base of the game to not become smaller with each new release, but on the other it leaves room for 343 to delay giving us meaningful content. And even if Infinite is a flop, I think it was either Phil Spencer or someone from MA who said that Halo Infinite would be around regardless of it’s success.
That’s nice and all.
But I just feel that by releasing a “10 year game” it’s a way of maximizing profit while minimizing development costs.
I’m sure any future campaign DLC is going to cost money. With the slipspace engine already at 343s disposal I’m sure it will be easy for them to create content as they go.
It means that any future Halo story must be limited creatively by having everything take place on zeta halo for the next ten years ???
And it also means that rather than getting a potential series X exclusive Halo game as a sequel were just going to get more and more of this cross gen crap.
I sometimes wonder how incredible Halo Infinite couldve been on a technical level had it been a Series X/PC exclusive…
I’m tired of living in the past. I miss the days when the new console generation meant that we were going to get games with graphics that would blow us away.
By having Infinite working to run on series X as well as all the old xbox ones the quality of the game has to take a hit and they can’t utilize the full potential of the next gen hardware on the series X.
Infinite is a decent looking game but what this says to me, is that the Halo graphics were looking at now are the same graphics were going to be looking at in ten years.
Ten years Is a long -Yoink!- time. I doubt Infinite is going to be very impressive ten years from now.
So the next ten years of Halo is going to be stuck in 2021…how exciting…
this is my problem with modern gaming it just doesn’t feel exciting anymore… it doesn’t feel like they’re pushing boundaries anymore… it’s all about maximizing profit and minimizing the innovation. In many cases newer games are often downgraded in various ways from the game that came before it.
People want better graphics? well instead of making the game a series X exclusive and taking advantage of all that hardware power well just downgrade the physics, downgrade the amount of enemies on screen at any given time during combat… and there that should free up some space for improving the graphics…
it’s just crap like that. I think management arent allowing developers to flex their creative muscle anymore or push boundaries to make truly great games… I sense that they’ve clamped down on their developers and have them on this strict leash whereas back in the day the companies likely gave more freedom to their developers…
which is why games were so excellent years ago. Games were complete on launch, new AAA Gamez would break new ground in terms of graphics and gameplay.
Compared to today where you play a new “AAA” game and you’re just counting all the obvious areas where corners were obviously cut. Counting all the unfinished aspects, all the promises from the devs that features will be coming months down the road.
How is it that all this stuff is not ready after a game.has been in development for 6 years? I feel it has to be 343s management forcing the devs to cut those corners and asking themselves what is the bare.minimum.amount of content that we can get away with in our new game that will still justify that AAA price tag.
You constantly feel like you’re getting -Yoink!- with each and every new game to varying degrees. It’s absolutely sickening.
Like I’m literally just asking for once can I get a AAA game that feels like it’s at least 95% complete on launch with the last 5% making up a few updates to possibly patch performance and bugs ?
Every game we get now feels like we’re getting 70% of that game on launch with the last 30% coming In the form.of massive updates througghout the following year. You want your co op?
You’ll get it a year from now after you’ve already played and beaten the game 3 times and have moved onto a new game. Sorry we couldn’t fit that into the 2021 budget but have made room for it in the 2022 budget.
All I’m asking for is a complete game on launch that has everything it should have on launch the day I pay for it…
Are we seriously living Ina time where it’s too much to ask to get what you paid for ?
Just because it’s a ten year game it doesn’t mean it’s going to get ten years of content.
In some sense Halo3 has been a 14 year game as it has been supported until January 2022.
They are jackals not actual skirmishers. I don’t remember the name of either race, but they are not the skirmisher race. Matines call them Jackals still too. They look almost like them but aren’t them. I think after the battle of Reach in the lore, most either died or simply did not get hired again by the covenant or something
wait they have skirmishers like from reach, but aren’t skirmishers??? Are they trying to write it as if Bungie never existed??
I never really noticed anything wrong with the Skirmishers
Counterpoint:
343 really screwed up the jackals in Halo 4 (dino jackals) and had to change the canon to include a third, more dinosaur-shaped jackal species to fix that.
IMO, they nailed the inclusion of jackal species in Infinite. Aslo: This game actually has skirmishers (unlike 4 and I think 5). If the feathers are hairy, I chalk it up to being ruffled while sparring with low-level brutes in banished fistfighting rings (which I assume are obligatory).
I really like how they brought in the Jackals/skirmishers here, because they’re correctly depicted as heartless pirates/mercenaries. While shooting one I heard him say “Paid to kill, not paid to die!” while running away.
Well i kinda like the diffrent sub-species of Jackal ide…
It’s already established in universe that Skirmishers are part of the Banished and the Skirmishers in this game just call themselves Skirmishers.
Dang….
This makes me sad…
I haven’t played the game yet but i was looking forward to seing them again…
This is sad.
Can you put in a support ticket? So this can get changed please?
They have them but it is wrong… look at halo reach skirmishers (T’vaoan) and compare them to the normal jackals (ruttian) VERY different.
Infinite just has Ruttian with feathers
Ya know that that is a sterotype right?
Those are not necessarily true 100% of the time.
There are definitely kig-yar with hearts that are loving. I 100% garentee you.
Honestly can’t remember how they look so maybe you could make some sort of david attenborough biology comparison with pictures? Be nice to see the differences pointed out but I doubt they’re worse than dino jackals
they also stand still and LET you shoot them and I’m playing on heroic which feels like its on easy till I get to a boss fight then its like LASO

Take away the “/“ at the beginning and this should work.
This has a picture of a ruttian and one of three T’vaoan (skirmishers)
