Well, this vid was released a month ago, but I haven’t seen it until now. What he says is true, he is a competitive MLG player, yet he still loves the game and doesn’t curse at it every second he gets. What is so bad about that?
Good video
Cool, one out of how many? Majority rules. Diablo III’s lead designer, Jay Wilson, is basically resigning (he’s being repositioned within the company) because of the backlash from his “vision” of the game (attempting to make an ARPG into an MMORPG). Halo is being transformed from an arena shooter to an arcade shooter and people don’t like it. Notice how their lead multiplayer designer is open for hire? Notice how they admit they screwed up? Notice how this game can’t even hold a 100k population?

When did they admit they screwed up?
They have a positon open for a led multi designer, means they’re expanding.
The game has been consistently over 100k double and triple that of other games in the top 10 for xbox.

Notice how waypoint is a minority. Notice how if you add up 80% of of the hourly population numbers for 24 hours you will get the total number of unique users. Notice how its 900,000 to 1,000,000.
ninja has also had his fair share of criticism for the game
Ninja isn’t “wise”, he’s simply delusional. Streaming is literally his job and source of income. He tried his best to stay positive and keep the game alive because streaming Halo is what pays his bills. Unfortunately it is probably in his best interests to switch to a game that doesn’t look like its being flushed down the toilet. Ninja has fans and draws viewers because of his personality, he’s not confined to being married to Halo 4.

You haven’t read any bulletins obviously. It was stated in the first bulletin of 2013
It used to hit over 100k over the weekends. It’s barely holding 90k right now. Black Ops 2 had more players then Halo right now. MW3 has more players then Halo does right now. You know nothing of how the population has been.

Looks pretty normal to me. Game has been above and below 100,000 for awhile. If it drops even further next week though I’ll be alarmed.
For now though, the population seems fairly stable.
To stay in character though, I didn’t like the video.
> For now though, the population seems fairly stable.
Yeah…its stable at an absolutely horrendous number.
Sub 100K peak when 7.5 million copies were sold and the game has only been out for 2.5 months is an absolutely horrendous population statistic.

Dude, if you know anything about Halo, you would know that those numbers are horrendous. This game is making Halo: Reach look like League of Legends right now.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but…
Halo 3’s chart displayed unique users.
Halo 4’s chart displays peak population.
Halo 4 is thriving. Pandering to the masses is how you make money.
Quality is a different matter altogether. Objectively though, Halo 4 is succeeding.

I know quite a bit about Halo.

What I’m looking at is the playlist population on Waypoint. It’s what I go by anyhow.

I’m not talking “charts”, I’m talking in-game, as-of-right-now population. Halo 3 tracked this number in-game just like Halo 4 tracks it both in-game and on Waypoint. Halo 3’s population absolutely destroyed Halo 4’s. Did you play Halo 3? The game pulled 200K+ users on at once with ease. H4 has been out for 2.5 months and the game hasn’t hit 100K people on matchmaking at once in something like ~12 straight days now.
Even Halo: Reach was able to top 100K consistently on weekends literally a year after it launched. The peak number for H4 tonight, a Friday night, was just under 93K. Reach a year after launch was pulling a higher peak user count on Friday nights than Halo 4 is after 2.5 months.
> Halo 4 is thriving. Pandering to the masses is how you make money.
Selling a lot of copies doesn’t mean a game is thriving. All it means is that you were able to market a bunch of people into buying your game. “Thriving” would be it actually HOLDING those people who bought the game, when in reality the game is dying. People are quitting the game and not returning. The game is losing players at an astounding rate. That isn’t “thriving” my friend.
