I had bought the MMC on its release. Nightfall worked fine for the first epsiode. However, a recent update glitched it and whenever I try to watch it, instead of a play button, it has a button that says “Buy Halo”. If i select it, it brings me to the game. I have tried many things to fix this. If I could receive feedback about this issue I would be grateful.
I have not been able to watch it at all. I bought a physical copy of MCC but it wont let me watch nightfall on the halo channel, it just brings me back to the game when i hit “buy halo”. Ive been told that there is a cade you can use in a leaflet. I cant find it. But i was also told many people with hard copys of the game didnt need even need a code. Can someone please help stop my confusion? Should i call game stop about not having a code or what?
I’m not sure what’s going on either. I too have a hard copy and it just tells me to buy the game. Very activating.
I was able to watch the first episode on the day after the game’s release, however after that the ability was removed.
it is doing the same thing to me.i watched the first episode and own mcc, after the update it asks for ‘buy’ or ‘detail’ no matter it wont play any of the three episodes. when i push ‘buy’ it just takes me back to the game. i just would like to watch the new episodes please. i would like to add i dealt with xbox support and they refereed me to here after their troubleshooting did not help. i own a physical disk
edit: nevermind, after looking at suggestions on this forum i realized the game wants the code that is in the disk case. when game was first released halo tv did work without a code and i watched the first episode of nightfall, now after update you have to actually put the code in if you own physical copy. that can confuse people. i put the code in and it does work now. it should at least tell you to put code in
I have had the same problem… I was able to watch episode 1 on release day but once 2 came out I couldn’t watch that one now 3 is out and I can’t watch that one either… Still does the buy halo thing… Yes I downloaded the code an yes I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it’s still not working… I’m getting annoyed I just wanna watch it because I acctually like it so far.
Having the same problem here. I watched the first episode and now I cant watch the next 2 episodes because it says I haven’t bought it. They need to fix this game…
in your physical copy you should find a code use that

Do you have a capture device of some kind connected to the console?
If so, it will trigger the console’s HDCP and refuse to play Nightfall or any of the terminals while it’s connected. Most of the other videos on the Halo channel work fine though.
If you bought the physical copy of MCC, there is a code on the box that you need to enter before you watch Nightfall. The first episode is free as far as I know, but the rest of the episodes requires use of the code. If that doesn’t solve the issue, try looking over the solutions that both the Forum Team and myself posted in this troubleshooting topic.
I had the same problem. I ended up uninstalling the Halo Channel App and then reinstalling it by redeeming the code that came with the disc.
