So far when night occurs there is a gameplay difference but little graphical difference. Enemies suddenly become blind and deaf while I am still seeing with the same clarity. I think if it were darker, it would encourage flash-light use and not make being stealthy feel like your fighting an army of the blind.
Night in zeta is like a cloudy day.
Yeah it doesnt feel impactful enough. Especially considering what night looked like on Alpha Halo
Yea I felt that too, but i feel like this could add some issues if players are fine just playing in the daylight. There would need to be some way to advance time to accomodate that. That would also make it nice cuz it would put you more in control of how you play
night could’ve been so interesting. it would tern the game into a sorta ‘truth and recconsiliation’ situation. stalking around the enemies with a rifle, whiles they’re non the wiser. stealth in halo was never really used, and touched on here and there. but a day/night thing from assault to stealth would be super dope imo
maybe have more wondering enemies at night. like sniper jackals/elites
whiles in day, brutes and grunt are wondering about
Fantasy vs reality.
Fantasy: nights on zeta Halo should be pitch black, not being able to see your in hand in front of your face black.
Reality: Banished have lights everywhere (just like we do on Earth) so it would never quite feel that way.
But in the places where there are none there should be some pitch-blackness.
It should be darker but give us like VISR or nightvision.
Its really weird walking up to a jackal (the perceptive race) and wondering why he can’t see me, then realizing its ‘night’ time.
Seriously its darker when I leave work these days.
