Anyone think that a lot of his idea and designs are very reminiscent of halo designs + concepts?

Elysium Body exo skeleton and a habitable halo shaped ring with a star in the centre + Halo’s well… halo xD
a lot of the tech it self just seems to me that he is screaming to microsoft and 343 to let him give us fans what a true halo fan wants to see in a halo movie or series.

Neil Blomkamp in fact made the Halo short movie “Landfall” when Halo 3 came out
It was planned to be a full length movie
I tear up a bit whenever I see Blomkamp’s work knowing what may well have been an exceptional entry in the Halo universe all those years ago. Landfall, his first and sole foray in the franchise, and what was likely his demo reel, continues to be one of the highlights of this universe and the standard to which all other live-action entries must aspire to. Neil Blomkamp certainly has the talent and he’s expressed his willingness given the right degree of autonomy. Hopefully someday he’ll be on the short list for directing Halo’s first proper, feature-length film.
Well District 9 directly arose from the burning ruins of the Halo movie he was supposed to direct. Hopefully he can direct some of the new TV show. I’d love him to make a Halo movie that goes to theaters.
