I thought to myself once while playing, “You know, every one is in a party these days. Nobody coordinates.” I was playing Reach, and everyone but one person was in a party. I decided to leave my party to talk to him.
Now, while the idea of party chat is nice, so is cooperation and team work in order to win a game. Makes you feel more immersed in the game, and makes you want to play even harder if you lose, or it makes you able to set up traps if you want. Now, with everyone in party chat, this appears to be out of the question.
Now, my idea was that 343 industries could just make a certain gametype and/or playlist that would force it’s players out of party chat and into gamechat, sort of like how Call of Duty does it on Search and Destroy. This way, people would still be able to coordinate like they used to do in previous games. But, if they wanted to go ahead and play and talk to friends in different games, or are just party freaks, then they can go onto the party chat playlist where they can be in either party chat or game chat.
What do you guys think of this? It gives justice for both types of people, whether they be new members, senior members, or casuals when in regards to how they like to communicate.
Or just a heavily enforced search option that found only people in with mics in game chat.

Yeah, that too. But some people abuse this, for say on Reach. You search for talkative people and you end up getting put in with people who don’t have mics.
But yeah, the gamechat search option would be great as well.
Good Idea. But I lost hope in team coordination when i first joined Xbox-Live. There are many problems with things that come wit this idea. People have crappy mics. little kids. yelling siblings. too many people talking at one time. But i guess its still a good idea. But why couldn’t people just join a party if the wanted to chat? if it was 5 v 5 and 5 people were friends they could just go into a party. But i guess if you join a game where you are forced to go into game chat then i guess that kind of stuff is on you.

The part about people with telling siblings and too many talking people, all could be fixed if 343 industries put in the walkie talkie mode in Halo 4. (Where you would have to hold down a button on your controller in order to speak, in halo 2/3 it was the up button on the d pad). This would let you yell in private, while being able to still play the game and not let people hear you, and it would also keep your rages to yourself, if you’re a rager. But I see your point here.
