Next Patch: Co-op Input Lag!

Sadly it does with synchronous net code

I believe this is absolutely true, OP.

And I have to point out that this is not like it has been in “all Halo titles’ co-op campaigns” and it does have nothing to do with people playing “overseas”.
It is a kind of “input lag”, not a kind of lag that has to do with “bad connection”. There have been even reports of people having the same problem if they play in the very same room with two XBOX ONEs!

Co-op has an input lag that renders it unplayable. It is a problem solely on the side of the MCC and it needs to be fixed asap.

However, I have already made a thread about a possible solution:

Im just gonna bump this up, because this at least needs to be addressed by 343, it was ignored in the 360 CEA, it CANNOT be ignored here.

Honestly, this is the MAIN thing that I and many other people want. lots of us dont care too much for MM and just want a game that we can play with friends online, and halo’s Co-op has always been one of the most fun experiences. Give us a working co-op (and achievements/playlists) and you can take however long you want to fix the MM, at least we will have something to do in the meantime, i mean 3/4 of the achievements in this game are story related, and i can’t even attempt them because co-op is unplayable and the achievements wont even unlock half the time, not to mention playlists skipping levels so you actually CANNOT get the achievements.

Completly supporting your point on this Robert.

THIS IS A CAMPAIGN SERIES ! We don’t care about online match making. Halo 4 is there for that…
We don’t pay for a botched, poorly done laggy stacked campaigns game. All the game series content gravitates arround the story campaign. Rewards, achievements.
Use the money WE gave you to fix that. We were all expecting remastered PLAYABLE co-op games. This is an insulting mascarade towards Bungie.

Bumping again, I would like to at least see something from 343 at least acknowledging that there are still numerous issues with the campaign section of the game, which is the primary reason that myself and many others actually purchased the game. All i’m hearing is “MM is going to be patched. MM is being worked on. MM is getting a new playlist”. I hate to sound like a broken record but input lag is one of the worst offenders as well as achievements not working and playlists bugging out.

It’s not a glitch. It’s not going to be fixed. There’s been input lag in online co-op since its debut in Halo 3. If you want to minimize the lag, you need to play with someone that lives nearby. Playing with people overseas or on the opposite coast will obviously cause more delay…

As ive said before, I played halo 3 and 4 on launch with groups of 4 friends with absolutely zero input lag. and not only is in in halo CEA on the MCC, its in ALL of them now on the MCC. It does not help whether you are playing with someone over seas, in the same country, in the same city, or even in the same household. and for arguments sake, even IF this were to be a pre existing issue, It should have been fixed when putting the games in the collection, if we are living in the realm of 50gig installs for games and almost 2gig patches, i dont think it should be too hard for them to fix this issue.

Edit: I just want to add that if 343 can fix this issue as well as the playlist/achievement issues, All will be forgiven in my books, especially since i KNOW that they will have the MM up and running eventually. Its just starting to scare me that there is little to no mention of the campaign issues what so ever.

bump

when i play halo 3 with my friend (who is one town over), i have a dramatic drop in framerate to near zero. He doesnt experience any, and it is not a connection issue because we both got through halo 1 and 2 with no lag whatsoever. Im hoping this is fixed because we want to play through 3 and 4 on legendary together.

I suffered this on the Halo:CE Anniversary on the 360 and happens again on the Xbox One. The unique solution I found by then was playing with a friend on LAN, at my home but that’s not “the power of the cloud” or so…

This needs to be fixed, ASAP.

This at least needs to be addressed!

I’ve had input lag with every halo campaign when im not host. This is all normal to me.

Input lag hasn’t been an issue for me in any previous Halo title but it has become an extremely annoying problem in Halo MCC, namely the Halo CE and Halo 3 co-op campaigns. These 2 games also experience a weird thing where they seem to run at 50% speed, so it almost looks like a lag or frame rate issue. Nonetheless, the games are unplayable in co-op when these issues start occurring (which is every time I try to play them for more than 10 minutes.)

I sincerely hope they have a patch or something of the sort for it. I couldn’t care less about MM the only reason I purchased this game was for the campigns, more specifically, the co-op. Me and a couple friends experience at least a 1 second input lag on Halo 1,2,and 4. On Halo 3 the input lag is non existent however it is replaced by a horrible framerate which is roughly somewhere between 10-15 fps making the game unplayable whatsoever. Please address this issue 343!

It WAS a problem since Halo 3.

Do I need to keep posting these?

I have the same problem with MCC. I bought the Xbox One so I can play coop with my rl friends (20km far from my home) and we still have this unplayable lag. ODST giveaway is great but I want to play the game with my friends, not alone.

I tried to change my network settings and was able to set it as “Open” so it should be fine, but it’s not. I never had this problem with 360 and played all the coop with 3 or 4 in each game.

Please fix this because I just can’t play MCC.

Yes, it definitely was a problem since then, but it’s worse of a problem now for some reason. On Halo 3 the input lag’s severity was on a session by session basis, sometimes it was 1+ seconds sometimes there was none (even with the same people). Playing MCC with the person I usually co-op with there’s ALWAYS like a second of lag (and our internet has just gotten faster since we played say Halo 3). And unlike what some people say, it’s not a distance thing, it’s a reasonably short drive away.

I know these posts are kind of old, but man, I just want to play campaign co-op so I was just looking for possible solutions to maybe minimize this input lag.

Two Matchmaking Games in one hour and that’s been about par. No problems in custom games minus the same chatting problems that have been supposedly fixed: NOT. The games we got into are still buggy and laggy. Kicking people. Weapons disappearing. Achievements won’t unlock. THIS IS JUST PLAIN RIDICULOUS. It has been 100 days!!! You have had 100 days to fix this game, a ton of days before that to actually test the game, and you can’t/didn’t do that!!!

Stop spending so much time on Halo 5 because it’s only a direct copy of Destiny and COD combined. It’s garbage. Try fixing some games that were actually good. I don’t see how you don’t put in more time because if this is the result for games that have already been released, what makes you think that anyone would want to buy a new game from 343. This is utter garbage. I have religiously played Halo, Halo 2, and Halo 3 for years and I cannot do it anymore even though that was what was promised.

I pulled my preorder on Halo 5 and I will not be buying it unless this game is what was promised to me. As far as I’m concerned, you stole $60 from me, because I can’t play even half the game as was advertised. I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THIS! I have never had much to complain about with the Halo series but that just takes the cake. You need to give the franchise back to Bungie for free. You won’t make any money off of it. You might have to pay them to take it back after what you’ve done to the good name of the Halo Series. Either that or fire everyone and start with some competent individuals that know how to make a video game and actually like Halo.

I DON’T CARE WHO’S FAULT IT IS!!! I DON’T CARE ABOUT FREEBIES!!!

JUST FIX THE GAME!!!
