Next generation social experience

Imagine w/ me if you will… A lobby separate from theater or post game. A lobby where you can view other player’s games in real time. Where 343 has leader boards by popularity. Where, (instead of going to justin.tv or twitch.tv) you could view a live stream of your favorite Halo players.

Where you could openly chat w/ other viewers in the current game you are viewing; to disect - skill/gameplay/methods.

Imagine following your favorite players by opening up the social aspect of the Waypoint experience. You would follow your favorite players simply by selecting them from a friends list, from leaderboards, or simply because you made a new friend.

I know i’m not alone when I’ve finished my 47th match and just want to sit back and watch some other (more skillful) players tear it up; so i might better myself as a player.

Personal devices would become that much more relevant if you were able to stream live games through your ios/android SMART devices, “on the go”

The possibilities are endless. It would not take much time for 343 to get something rolling, now. We, as the Halo community, could further the Xbox Live fame of the players and teams that deserve it. MLG would become that much more major. Imagine all you MLGites out there… following (or just sneaking in) to your biggest rival team’s live stream to better understand their tactics and gameplay.

Halo defined online gaming. Since, the rest of the world has caught up. What now is more relevant in every day society than social media? It is time for 343 to define the gaming universe once more; to grab the reigns of this mountainous beast we call “Halo” and define the next generation of gamers.

“They” have the technology, “We” have the community. Let us, together, define Generation Gamer!!! …(explosions in the background)…echo echo echo

This sounds pretty cool. I like the idea.

It would be interesting to see other random or known people play Halo from their own point of view.

So a spectator mode which is in just about every PC game?

This is a very good idea. Another addition to this could be that when you are queuing to join a party to play matches, you could be able to spectate the game that the party is in.

By having this, you could be watching your friends finish off their games, rather than just sitting idly in the menus. It would also be great for trash talking if they make bad plays via party chat.

Overall, this idea is similar to that in many racing games; where you are in the same race or party as the other competitors and say you were to crash out, then you can simply spectate the other racers while you wait for them to finish.

Queue join evolved… i like it. Depending on the players we followed, when viewing the leader boards there could be the option for the player to post a message stating when he is going to be on next, what he will be playing, who he will be playing with, and for how long. So the community would know when to get on.

And of course there would be privacy choices. “only allow friends to view/follow” “only allow players you have chosen to view/follow” “block recent players” “open” and “close”

Also, (and this is so important I don’t know why i left it out." If you are familiar w/ justin or twitch tv. 343 could utilize the kinect and let the player customize his viewing screen. i.e - place camera box upper left corner, lower right corner, etc. And place their name and Gamertag in a small discrete location.

If 343 did this - activision, ea, and bioware would have no choice but to follow suit w/ their next installments. I’m telling you, the daily player counts would skyrocket. Even if 15 percent spent most of their time in the lobby.
