I’d absolutely love that as long as coordinating it didn’t have a net negative result on bug squashing.

I agree with up to the point is that just doing “flights” for the sake of having a weekend for them defeats the purpose. They only need to do flights when they have something specific they want to test. For them to get valuable feedback they need to have a very narrow objective.
If they can push out these flights with an objective in mind, I would be for it.
I mean, yeah, I’d love to see that. But there’s probably a lot that goes into each flight behind the scenes so I don’t think it’s as simple as just going “annnnnd this month it’ll be team objective!”
