Next DLC leader after kinsano are Lekgolo?

Lekgolo are hunters for those who do not know. During their PAX East panel they talked about HW2 showed off and talked about Morgan Kinsano at the end of it where what i assume is a teaser image for the next leader are the silhouette of two Lekgolo hunters @_@ Well for one thing hows that gonna work? Lekgolo cant talk they just make that weird noise they always make. But i thought of what there hero unit would be, and i thought it would be the lekgolo leaders themselves their bond brothers so maybe the other one gets stronger when the other one dies? I cant think of anything else so… opinions, new unit ideas that are lekgolo related,or a better hero unit idea also leader abilities lets brainstorm!

Lekgolozilla. Multiple hunters that form together into massive mega hunter.

I’m not sure how a Lekgolo colony could be used as a leader considering they can’t really communicate with the rest of their troops. I also doubt Sangheili or Jiralhanae would follow a Mgalekgolo.

I mean Lekgolo colony leader powers would be kinda cool, but meh…

Lekgolo can speak actually, at least in their Hunter forms. They did sign an agreement to join the covenant in the first place after all.

Here’s a quote from Halo Nation

“Mgalekgolo do not use vocal chords to speak, but instead vibrate their bodies to make a low rumble to produce speech. They are capable of mimicking the language of other species, forming words and sentences that are “felt rather than heard.””

Aaaand a link to the page where I got that from

As for Elites or Brutes not following them into battle, some Hunters did have command over lower ranking Elites in Ghosts of Onyx. That also is on the wiki page that I linked above under military ranking. I doubt Brutes would enjoy working under them though since Elites are the only ones that Hunters seem to like at all.

NICE :laughing::laughing::trophy:

Yeah, I hope this Lekgolo shadow thing isn’t reqlly our next leader. It just doesn’t make sense. They are powerful sure. But they are not “Leaders” by any sense of the word.

I could care less about their speech. What I’m wondering is if we will purely get Mgalekgolo (what we know as hunters.) Or if we will get unbound Lekgolo swarms that can assume forms and therefore fill different roles.

I want to imagine that lekgolo would behave like Slivers in MTG. Individually weak, but each unit buffs the surrounding units. So the larger the synapse grows, the stronger your army becomes.

I know you are joking but… You pretty much described perfectly a scarab lol.

For the OP, I love halo and read enough books and played every game to have no clue on what direction as a leader a hunter could be and their special abilities.

Maybe they get anti-air hunters with big cannons on their back instead of their hands as cannons. Banish is quite weak on the anti air options? Mainly going off how the next UNSC is getting a anti infantry leader. Stupid marine rush

An unbound hunter swarm?

Well if they can mimic language then speech problem solved maybe? Also there is ton of room for new units if we’re talking lekgolo they could take many forms! Also do you guys like my hero unit idea?(this is optional to answer)

Except that when the Elites left the Covenant, the Hunters stayed. There may be some bad blood there.

Don’t forget that one part of Spartan Ops S2 when the Hunter was actually commanding the Grunt squad even smacked one away.

Just imagine, hunters shooting air

I got an idea, what if the leaders are the hunters, but there is a grunt to translate what they say. The result could be hilarious beside the fact that grunts are known to be very competent when it comes to speak with/understanding other species, in halo CE they litterally speaked whatever language your game was because there was no translators in the mark 5.
Just an idea.

I don’t think language would be a problem, even if the Banished couldn’t understand them they could ask the Huragoks to make a voice box. A Hunter leader indeed would make sense, given that the Phoenix logs suggest Hunters did not serve the Banished until recently and that they do not seem to be happy about it, so I imagine they’re on a sittuation similar to 'Volir and his crew.

Yeah the Hunter’s allegiance is never really explained well, I know they were kept off the Seperatist side as to not confuse the player in Halo 3. Maybe the Loyalists just had control of the Hunter’s homeworld so they were able to keep them from leaving?

And yet, in Halo 2, there was at least one part where Hunters aided the Arbiter and the Elites AFTER the schism.

So yeah, their loyalties are all over the place, it seems.

The schism was only just starting in an already 3 way battle with humans and flood. It’s possible that they thought that it was the Brutes who betrayed the Covenant in the chaos, which seemed far more likely than the Elites doing so. (Especially now that there is a cannon group of Brutes that did just that.)
