hopefully they update the heroes of reach back to its old form, with all of reach’s stuff in it. of course also replacing the superintendant with auntie dot. but i digress, this is still good news non the less
Ok holy -Yoink!-, that sounds amazing. I knew about the navmesh thing, but I guess I didn’t put 2 and 2 together. Wow. Ok so maybe I have a little hope for Infinite after all. Not unreasonably so, but cautiously optimistic. Wish the industry didn’t make this a common practice, but hey, this was a long time coming to be fair.
On an semi-related note, I am definitely one to be cynical and complain about the monetization and whatnot, but I have a feeling that if Forge comes out and it REALLY IS as good as it looks… man, forget about how my spartan looks. I’m gonna permanently be in Monitor form! My only fear is that they’ll charge for forge pieces/ variants of pieces, but for now, I’m gonna let that fear go and just let time pass. I’ve been having a blast just playing MCC again, and while I’m not happy about waiting, I do genuinely look forward to seeing where Infinite goes.
You mean kill a bunch of aliens and press a button? That’s all FOB’s are.
Also that’s not weird at all btw. Got plenty to think about with how bored we are lmao
Totally disagree. MCC was in a broken state for 4/5 years. That game is fantastic now. 343 didn’t “half--Yoink!-” fixing it and they are still updating it. EVEN ADDING NEW CONTENT. 343 isn’t half committed to Infinite. The literal plan is this is the next HALO for the foreseeable future. They will keep adding content and updating it.
Yeah I think there should be more free stuff in infinite. I’m sure that’ll happen soon since even talk on the inside of 343 is even complaining about the pay/free system they have.
I think if they run this system well, infinite will be the longest worked on halo game
I am almost 100% sure it’ll be included when Forge finally rolls around, that being said its probably only intended for the Spartan AI’s we fight in MP. I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t allow for the actual Banished being in Forge. Its more complicated than it sounds technically of course, like surely if players spawned in tons of them suckers it would tank framerates/performance, but I think the overall system would support it.
It wouldn’t be too useful without a dedicated gametype for Firefight/Warzone though, as I imagine that anything else would be ill suited for that. Its all just specalation though, but it definitely has the potential to do lots of wacky stuff.
I’ve always wondered if they’d do this or not. Even back in 3/Reach days I always sort of wondered about it.
Considering that they never charged for anything related to Forge for 5 (which had an impressive forge mode I might add) I would be sort of surprised if they decided to charge for anything related to Infinite forge mode.
…and we will also let them.
Oh geeeeee thanks guys!!! You listened and made changes…that are still bad but at least they are better than what you released first. We are satiated now!
Dude… what? Feedback is required to make everyone happy and make changes around the feedback.
Yeah I agree Super Mario bros. was perfect but infinite is an online game. Bugs are going to happen. They need to release the game with what they have so they can look at data and we’ll test it out.
That’s like making a program in you’r garage and then saying “okay I’m done”, release it to the world and expect it to run smoothly world wide
I guess you’re saying have the game complete full of a year of content on release, but I think dropping all that content would have bugs.
Halo 3 had a bug where your armor, no matter what you picked would be the default armor. So bugs happen. I’d rather them gradually add content and it work the first time then have a “cyber punk” mess
No argument here. I am just saying what I read. It is a terrible reason why the collision is not present but that is the excuse.
You know exactly what I meant. You even cut off the last part of the sentence that explained it further
Yet I saw everyone wearing mark VI. All the content in the world and yet no one was wearing that stuff
To start, why no announcement here?
Thanks for the post
I have thought about this as well, ever since they announced that the seasons are tying into the releases of the drop of Co Op and Forge. I could see how they loosely tie both and the upcoming seasons into the Campaign storyline in a way. Nothing crazy. Sort of like the MP training mission.
Sorry when I read that I couldn’t handle myself
I went back and read the rest
As I am sure you are aware of releasing things over time versus fixing bugs are two different topics.
We absolutely should expect bugs to be fixed over time. However adding things over time is a different beast.
Did that particular game have lots of features to begin with? Yes? Well cool. Let us add some DLC and some maps and some skins and some game types.
Did that particular game have lots of features to begin with? No? Well that is not a complete game if you are going to ship a barebones product like the Multiplayer and just expect your player base to keep coming back when you drip feed them content.
That is the issue. This multiplayer…because it is free to play, allows for them to put a product on the internet that everyone can download whenever they please which in turn allows the developer to drip out content when they see fit.
If this was a full priced boxed game with a complete multiplayer, we should be able to assume the developers would have teams to work out the bugs and balancing and a smaller team designing EXTRA content to be added at a later date. This is because they spent so much time during development to polish the game and have a complete experience ready to go in box.
I miss the days when people would complain about DLC maps, meanwhile I was just excited for new content…this Free to Play and monetization era of gaming is by far one of the worst and has driven me to go back to basics of single player adventure/RPG games.
My friend is a cheap -Yoink!- and won’t buy games so I only got to play halo with him because it was free
I think the maps that they have now are good enough, quality over quantity if you ask me. I’d rather have a game release slowly if it’s going to be any good.
I played halo 5’s quick play years ago and it still has the same two maps (exaggeration, not really). That got old fast.
Infinite I think won’t drip with content I think, I hope, content will start booming when they got everything working smoothly
Those of us who purchased the campaign mode should get the premium pass by default. Just sayin!
I certainly love your optimism.
10 years sure would be a long drip, so I’m hoping so!
