He’s somewhere in the Zeta Halo.
He managed to escape from the Spartan Killer, but his helmet became an ornament on the Brute’s armor.
The death of the Rookie made 343i pay the price. They will not kill the protagonist controlled by the player in the game.

Personally, I think one of the reasons restricting Locke’s appearance is the actor’s schedule. Mike Colter is already a popular famous actor.
Maybe there will be a novel about Locke in the future.

Honestly I think the safest assuption at this moment is that he’s dead.
Only thing we know is that a “Spartan-Killer” used his Mjölnir as a trophy.
At this point I see no reason why a Spartan “killer” would have spared Locke.
And he’s one of the least popular characters in the franchise’s history, so I don’t expect them to bring him back

Mike Colter didn’t even do the voice of Locke in Halo 5. They can just use his likeness and have another VA do the voice.

We won’t have a new campagin story before years, and it will be about the Master Chief and the endless, not about Lock who is inpopular for a lot of players. If we see Lock again, it’s will be in a book
Yeah I totally agree. Locke received so much hate that making him a part of the game even as a side character would make many fans mad.
