Newly Created Machinima Gametype

I’m sure many of you have seen or heard of one of the latest creations of the modding community: the classic favorite “Race”. I recently found a glitch within it that allows for a perfectly turretless Warthog, as linked here in my file share: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/players/perceussoz/halo4/fileshare#?details=29f44e8e-29dd-48f9-9d3f-90d61a73ab42
Utilizing this glitch, I figured that machinima-goers can utilize the newly-created Race gametype to create civil machinima material by doing this glitch. I will get a video on my file share soon showing how to create these turretless Warthogs, but for now you can download the “Machinima” gametype off of my file share.

What you’ll need for the Warthog glitch (both in-game and in Forge):
2 people
2 Hill Markers (minimum)

  • Advanced Game Type Label: Race_Checkpoint
  • Spawn Sequences 0 and 1 consecutively
    1 Warthog (Forge)
  • Advanced Game Type Label: Race_Del
    Spaced-out Initial Spawn points

First, in forge, place down some Initial Spawn points that have some distance between them so you spawn correctly in the game itself using the Race gametype. Then, spawn a Hill Marker and label it “Race_Checkpoint”. Duplicate and increase the spawn sequence from 0 to 1, and move away from the other Hill Marker. These serve as checkpoints in the game, as well as a respawn point for those who manage to get killed the acting sequence. Next, place down a Warthog (default), and give it a game label of “Race_Del”. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! WITHOUT THIS THE GAME WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY! Once you have these things done, save your map.

Now when you are in custom games, you need a second person with you to do this glitch. It is caused by improper despawning of the Warthog, causing its turret to despawn instead of the Warthog itself. First, when the game begins, drive through the first checkpoint, but IGNORE the second checkpoint. This first checkpoint will serve as the spawning of each Warthog you want (can spawn as many as you like doing this). Now have each person hop out of the Warthogs and into their respective turrets. Have one with their back facing the other so they can be shot and killed out of the turret without damaging the Warthog. Once the “guinea pig” is shot out of the turret, they will respawn in their new Warthog. However, the game glitches because the turret is a separate entity to the Warthog (similar to the Mounted Turret weapon), thereby causing the turret they were using to despawn, instead of their entire Warthog. Once you have the desired amount of pure turretless Warthogs, hide the remaining default Warthogs and, well, there you go. Turretless Warthogs. In this example photo, I made 8 Warthogs turretless: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/players/perceussoz/halo4/fileshare#?details=e471c7e1-55fb-4b20-980d-53b60f419499

Hope you all enjoy, and hopefully you understand the text version of the glitch tutorial :stuck_out_tongue:
