New xp update sucks

Summary

You are either a troll or you work for 343…

This is the absolute worst battle pass progression in the history of gaming. That is not an opinion but an indisputable point of fact. With that said, what you call entitlement is what we call customer service, we are paying for this, that’s not an “entitlement”. Words mean things…

Wow… people really will complain about anything won’t they? Why do you guys expect 343 to listen to you, again?

They made a change that, as they said, was based on their data and player feedback. It’s a temporary fix for a major problem that, as they said, they will be addressing. But changing the whole system, as they said, will take a while, so they pushed a temporary mitigation for it. The point is so that people can get a decent amount of XP without having to do challenges alone.

Just can’t satisfy some people, can you?

These “Steps in the right direction” are starting to feel more like tip-toes.

Get over yourself. If you can’t think of something meaningful to say, just don’t say anything.

The fact that they changed the xp payout from the 50XP per match to 300XP (albeit with diminishing returns with each match) means that they are in fact listening, to an extent. The thing about feedback is that I needs to be consistent, continuous, and formed from a consensus. Otherwise, we’re not likely to get any significant changes to the way the game functions.

This change in the xp payout is definitely a step in the right direction. Now we need more radical steps, and I have some proposals that I would like to share.

  1. Add 50 additional XP for winning a match.

  2. In addition to the first step, allow for XP to be earned based on the amount medals earned in a matchmade game in all game modes.

  3. Allow us to select which game modes we want to play, whether that’s slayer, CTF, etc.

  4. MAKE THE SHOP ITEMS CHEAPER!

  5. Allow for armor coatings (the colors) and visors be used for all three cores whenever a coating or visor is unlocked.

I’m sure other people may have more ideas as to what improvements can be put in place, but I would still suggest making these kinds of post, reach out to big youtubers to complain about these issues, it does work. We just have to push the momentum.

Yeah, they’ve clearly displayed the ability to do what you are asking for with the 50XP per match challenge, and from what I’ve read across a multitude of posts in this forum, not to mention countless Youtubers, Streamers, Bloggers and the like, that seems to be more in line with what the community has asked for. I’m scratching my head trying to figure out why they would have all of that out there pointing them to the proper solution to make the community happy and then turn around and give us this… The ONLY thing I can think of is that they’re deep in the pockets at present moment and Big Daddy Microsoft has told them they need to make that moola back and these choices are just sheer acts of desperation on 343i’s part to avoid the -Yoink!- slap they might get from MS if they fail to make up that cost.

I know this is a band-aid but this is just another bad decision on their part IMHO. I do hope that the “bigger” changes they are talking about do truly take into account what the community has all asked for, but without some kind of consistent communication of what those larger changes may be, for all we know, it could just be an even bigger catastrophe. As far as any of us know, the “bigger” changes are them just blowing smoke up our rears. Or not. Who knows?

With data leaks showing rampant usage of FOMO and blatantly over-priced items, I just don’t see much of a good future in Halo Infinite’s MP future. Certainly not for 10 years at the current pricing points.

That was meaningful.

Mhm, of course it was. Please, explain to me how deeply constructive and thoughtful your comment was. Point out how it addressed my point in such a meaningful way.

Not by a long shot. People just have terrible ideas, and don’t grasp the gravity of their suggestions.

Halo is at its best when players just play the game, and play the objective. Most of these suggestions are essentially equivalent to “I want Halo to reward me the same way that CoD has designed to drip feed and coax players to play SOLO and work on their personal goals instead of playing the objective as a team.”

Literally all it would take to fix the current system:

  1. Make all challenges more generic. No challenge should cause players to change how they would otherwise play the match if challenges didn’t exist.
  2. Base end of match XP based on time spent in the match. That way Bot matches will be worth less, while lengthy competitive matches will be worth more.
  3. Add a small bonus for winning. But this has to be done CAREFULLY. Make this too high and you incentivize people from quitting matches as soon as things look bad.
  4. Make the “Weekly Ultimate Challenge” something that has multiple steps, and is available to progress along side all other challenges.
  5. Re-structure “Challenge Swap” to instead swap out the challenge with an IDENTICAL version that has less requirements. Example “Get 50 kills”, use a challenge swap and it becomes “Get 10 kills”, but for the same XP.

This approach minimizes any chance for challenges to effect people playing any differently then they would any other Halo game. Objectives and winning would again be the single focus. Players would be rewarded for their time, and get bonuses for winning. Yet this wouldn’t leave worse players in the dust.

Absolutely agree with you.

It should be a long grind through the progression system (which we don’t have yet) to unlock something really cool.

Don’t have something cool right now in my mind so I just say Achilles armor.

It pointed out you are a sycophant who undermines legitimate concerns and opinions.

Just afk your first 6 games and be done for the day

I like these ideas a whole lot. I hope that 343i can incorporate stuff like this into whatever they’re currently working on, or that they’re already working on some of this stuff.

How, exactly? Because I disagree with you? Is that how the world works now?

“Oh you disagree with me? Well you must be UNDERMINING my legitimate concerns, while your points obviously just mean that you’re a sycophant and aren’t legitimate at all.”

Are you like, 12? If you disagree, say you disagree. Say why, in a real and meaningful way. Have a discussion; if you want to whine because someone disagree with you, go use a pillow. I have no use for your pathetic empty words.

If you have something real to say now, I’d be glad to hear it. If you’re gonna moan at me like a toddler again, kindly keep it to yourself, I will not be responding.

The irony here of you pretending your initial comment I responded to was just some civil display of opinion, and not a jab at delegitimizing other peoples perspectives. You’re not as sophisticated in your responses as you think you are and it’s cringe. You clearly were doing more than “disagreeing” and were actually taking a jab at people for even having or expressing their concerns. You literally started that, it’s clear as day.

I don’t think we necessarily need XP for earned medals, but a performance based progression system would be ideal.

Maybe something like this could work:

50 XP / game (participation)
50 XP / win (team performance)
5% of personal score (individual performance)

Edit: If you quit, you get nothing.

The H5 req system looking better than this one, and I hate it, not even close to what I expected of the BP

The boost and the swaps are the problem IMO. They have to give players a reason to buy them, but if they just made a good, player friendly system, we won’t buy them because we wouldn’t need them unless we wanted REALLY fast progression.
