The system needs work, but If they keep giving you more XP then people will be complaining about how they’ve done everything and there’s nothing left for them to do.
Better system would be you have XP to progress your battle pass system (paid or free) And then you have a second XP system that levels up like Halo Reach by just playing. So you have XP That goes towards your battle pass system and your leveling up system. You can also get ranked in ranked playlist. That’s what they SHOULD have And maybe will one day.
IF Halo infinite had the two systems that I set above, it should go back to 50 XP a day but for every win you get a another 50 XP. If you go on a winning streak of five or more you get a bonus 250 points every five wins. So at win,5,10,15 etc you get bonus points.
Also, all these people that say you should get more points for medals, no… absolutely not! The fact that you’re getting medals for doing whatever feat should be personal glory enough! You’re already getting a freaking medal recognizing what you did. Now, they should have it so you can look at players profiles while the match is loading like in previous games and see someone’s top medals. You should also be able to check your own service record (If we even had one…) and it should show all your stats right there, Including your top medals.
The most important thing in Halo (other than having fun of course, which some people hear seem to forget…) Is WINNING!! It’s a TEAM game (minus FFA obviously) winning should be rewarded (hence my idea for more XP for wins) not individual achievements. That’s what medals are for.
Why is it I get the sinking feeling more and more that this game won’t be “complete” for another couple years…ugh… I hate this new era of gaming of just ship the game out and will fix / do everything later. Feel bad for all the kids that didn’t get to experience gaming in it’s glory of the '80s '90s and the early 2000s. Those were the years.
They have acknowledged the feedback from the flights that a career progression is something they want to do and are planning to implement it in the future. This is not going to happen anytime soon though. They probably haven’t even started on it yet as they’ve been focusing on finishing everything else for release.
I looked for one and there’s not one. You have to get video evidence and then submit it manually outside the game, which blows. Hopefully that changes here soon. we shall see my friend.
They can scam whale sheep out of their money this way. They would screw up the sixty dollar game anyways, just like every game they ever released. All trainwrecks.
Agreed. If nothing else, this just makes it feel like I’m being discouraged for playing more than 5 matches at a time.
Just… change it to wins. Keep the 50xp for participating, plus 50xp for wins, Plus 5xp for each medal or something.
I mean sure it’s better than one tier per 4 hours, but like… wow, what a strange decision to have diminishing rewards just for playing… There’s clearly some misunderstanding here. We don’t necessarily just want to clear stages “Faster”, we want to be rewarded for our performance. To clear stages faster by playing well and winning.
What’s the point of a competition if everybody gets the same trophy?
You’re not completing 6 matches in 30-45 minutes lmao. Regardless of the inaccuracy of this near-memepost, this system is pretty decent. I’m up 3 levels in like an hour. Either I’m exceptionally lucky, or they seem to have changed challenges around because I’ve cleared 4 challenges in an hour and keep getting good ones replacing it.
Remember the Destiny forum revolts? Destiny 2 is in a worse state than it’s ever been and has suffered several such outcries from it’s playerbase and it still pulls like 2 million unique players per month.
I love how their new “fix” doesn’t really even change much. I also love that lukewarm BS statement they made about the other issues taking time. This game may be f2p, but that doesn’t absolve them for the way they’ve been blocking criticism and feedback at every corner & turn; like a dumb kid hiding a vase that they broke. Especially since they came out the gate with a “player-first” mentality. They literally lied to us. If I wanted to be a jerk I could just sue them for false advertising, but I think not buying Halo Infinite would hurt them more in the long run. I’ve been sitting on this for a while, deciding what to do. I really did give them the benefit of a doubt, but 343i just keeps spitting at the face of fans just so they can make those quarterly financial quotas on things the general player-base were against from the get-go. I’m sick of all this anti-consumer mumbo-jumbo. I’m sick of being lied to by game companies for the lucklaster game experiences they tend to provide for the sake of a profit-first mentality. More people should honestly be pissed about this. But you got complete chucklenuts defending them as if being f2p is just an excuse that absolves them from messing up this royally. There are other f2p titles that don’t take their shenanigans this far. Jesus. Even Destiny 2 doesn’t make XP earning difficult, and they’re known for coming up with half-wittingly bad schemes like sunsetting weapons and locking certain missions and areas behind a paywall. And that just goes with the overall theme of companies playing their fanbases like a bunch of chumps! Let’s face facts. Right here, right now. We’ve all been played like a fiddle. The prophets lied to us, Tartarus. Just, some people are too blind and ignorant to see it for themselves.
You get it no matter what as long as you complete matches, BUT as the rewards get smaller, the less good it feels to complete matches.
I do believe there should be a minimum you get for completing a match.
It does do a good job of promoting better gaming habits by not locking you into a 3 hour grind once you’re out of weekly challenges.
But I think the optimum solution for the community is to give xp rewards per win AND a small amount per medal, not some weird diminishing returns system.
It is slightly better because people will be able to clear a stage with one hour of play per day, instead of 4. But it still does not encourage good play.
That’s a brain dead take, if I ever saw one. I’d GLADLY take not playing the game, instead of constantly beating my head in with the stupid weeklies they have going. Coupled with the fact that their new “fix” does absolutely nothing to address the problems & concerns the general fanbase has had about the progression & monetization schemes set in place by 343i. And they’re lukewarm statement does absolutely nothing for quelling the rightfully placed anger towards them by new players & longtime fans, a like. They made a promise & they lied to us. Plain & simple.
I genuinely believe people don’t truly understand what they’re asking for. At this rate I stand the chance of progressing a BP level every single day with only 6 matches and nothing else. With 1 level per day, assuming not 1 single challenge is complete, if somebody started playing for the first time today they’d be done halfway through the system and have no incentive to return.
The idea is to keep a healthy, daily playerbase so the game has a long lifespan. If you make it too easy, the players obsessed with progression will stop coming back and start complaining about lack of content.
