What new weapons would you like to see in Halo Infinite. Let me know your ideas.
If the Banished decide to show up in Infinite, I’d like to see some new weapons that have origins as Covenant weapons but have been altered to fit with the new enemy.
For instance, they could use a much beefy version of the Beam Rifle that fires a thick red beam, a bit like the Spartan Laser.
Or Energy Swords that are more like meat cleavers in shape.
Or instead of the Plasma Caster, they could have a weapon that fired large projectiles (a cross between a needle and a spike grenade) that would either stick to an enemy or the first surface they contacted, and would explode in a splinter of shards, killing any player that it stuck, or causing moderate damage to anyone close enough to its impact.
I’m just gonna insert my dinosaur opinion here:
Please no more new weapons. H5 wore me out with all the variants. I won’t be so stubborn as to suggest we only need the CE weapon sandbox. But after Reach (and quite possibly some of the weapons in Reach), every new addition to the sandbox has had a diminishing return on investment.
Ideally, I’d go with the H3 sandbox, and add the sticky detonator from H4 and the DMR from Reach.
I’d like to see a new power weapon to match the spartan laser. Perhaps a new Brute ‘heavy sniper rifle’ which only has 4 shots and requires a 3 second charge up time between each shot. It would shoot a heavy explosive round capable of destroying a Warthog with 1 hit. You can tell if your being targeted by this rifle by a yellow laser pointing at you which turns more red the closer it is to firing. It should feature an audio cue when charging.
I really hope to see an even greater customization of characters than reach and I mean why not.
For me, I wouldn’t mind getting some of the old weapons back to see how they would be redesigned. Such as the brute shot, the flamethrower and the mauler for example (Just noticed that I want halo 3 weapons back)

Depending on how they set up the weapon sandbox, I’d say remove some of the existing weapon variants so that it isn’t overwhelming. If they banished are in the game, I would LOVE to see the spiker, spike grenade, and firebomb come back.
Edit: Can’t forget about the mauler and flamethrower. For the flamethrower, I think it should come back the way it was in CE (it was used as just a regular first person weapon and had no movement speed effect. Halo 3 used it like a turret and slowed you down)
What I would like to see all the weapons from Halo 5 return. Maybe not the variations though because some of the guns are kinda broken.
New vehicles also can be talked about.
I actually want some weapons removed… maybe after that we can think about new weapons…
We have the issue that the sandbox is so populated and so full that there is alot of clutter and weapons are starting to have an identity crisis.
Here is my take on weapons in the halo sandbox:
Light weapons: humans use charged laser bursts … the spartan laser… and sentinels and prometheans use steady beams… hardlight blades and sheilds
Plasma weapons: Covies use plasma bolts… motars… beams… and blades… scorch and burn
Sharpnel: Brutes use spikes… covies use needles… and the flood use… uh… thorns… not sure if you can use those thou
Explosives: Covies use concussion and stickies …
ETC…
Once you have an understanding of what kind of weapons each faction uses… and also the tactics each faction prefers… then you end up with more niche weapons and areas where you can fill in. SO … for example… plasma isnt actually very far ranged… covies like to get upclose and personal with their stealth tech and land blows from close… but they are also fast so they can out run and out chase their enemies who want to keep their distance. Oh yea… they are the chasers… not the runners… thats another thing.
So one thing i really am curious about is … how come the covies dont have a great anti air? Do they just use banshees to take out enemy air forces? … id think shade turrets… .if they had a faster fire rate might be able to fill in the role… or perhaps the halo 1 shade turret… with that 3 bolts firing at the same time. OR… maybe have a heavy needle cannon… it tracks targets… but not that much… BUT… is very fast. OR… it can just home into your aiming sight. I do believe the covanant anti air systems are needler in canon… for some reason.
You can make it like… light anti armor… firing like an anti air wraith…but it needs to charge.
Thats my idea of a new weapon.

In the Halo 5 weapon sandbox there already is a tracking needle cannon it’s called Wicked Grasp and it can be decent in some situations. But I do agree with you that maybe some weapons need to be removed or replaced.
ah thats the hunter weapon… wait… that shoots needles? didnt know that if that was the case… but yea… something like that… but shoots needles and does decent damage against light vehicles (like the sword needler hog). So charges up fires those bursts like the wicked grasp but with the sword needler hog projectiles… as like a detachable turret… maybe… or as shade turret…
If Brutes/banished are in I’d like a few new brute weapons alongside the return of the Brute shot. Here’s my idea:
Brute Belcher- a medium range flame thrower type weapon. The Belcher launches a cascade of incendiary material at its target.
Rather than the steady stream of a flame thrower however, this concentrated mass is a cloud of hot gas and molten metal, dissipating the further it gets from the guns magnetic field. The user can keep the flaming mass going by holding down the trigger. It will last a few seconds longer.
Shooting above a target, and letting go, will collapse the magnetic field and rain down fire and molten metal on the target.
I guess no one wants any new vehicles. I mean I would like to see the Revenant from Halo Reach return because that thing was like better than a Wraith.

well it isnt that… i mean… i want to see the spectre…and the falcon… and the chopper… and the hornet, the seraph, the broadsword, the shortsword, the longsword…the shadow from halo 2… the locust from halo wars… there are so many vehicles we want to see return from older halos and vehicles that become drivable from previous halos too. The reason why you dont have suggestions is probably most people assume that you meant new vehicles that we havent seen before and im not sure how we are supposed to come up with that.
If I were to suggest something entirely new, id go with a unsc artilery … well i guess that actually ended up being a thing in halo wars 2… so eh…
Most of the roles that vehicles are supposed to have are already existing in the halo universe.
What comes to mind when I think about new vehicles is the following:
I want a jet-like vehicle… well there is teh sabre and the broadsword
I want a helicopter like vehicle… well there is teh wasp and the hornet
I want a trasport air vehicle…well there is the falcon and the pelican
I want a vehicle that walks… well there is the mantis and the cyclops
Well no for the covanant… there is teh locust and the scarab
The vehicle sanbox is kind of already filled.
BUT… If there was a suggestion… that I think might expand the sandbox a little… its that I want a halo’s take on an apc (armored transport carrier). I think that would be pretty neat. we have something close but not quite (the transport warthog is not nearly as armored as id like it to be). The covanant technically have their own version… the shadow from halo 2.

The falcon is considered the “Warthog of the sky” why not have a “tank of the sky” my idea is for a slow moving, heavily armored Banished flying tank. It would have multiple seats, 2-3 one pilot and one or two gunners. The armament would be passenger operated twin spiker cannons and a driver operated magnetic ballista type weapon which launches fusion coil-like bombs.
Promethean Cavalier/Jouster
A ghost like vehicle made almost entirely of hardlight. And fills the role of the chopper. It’s fast moving, highly maneuverable, but does not have any ranged attack. The hardlight forms to a sharp point at the front of the craft when holding down the trigger to fire. Moving a normal speed, this kills infantry and any small vehicle stupid enough to cross its path. When boosting, the Cavalier can do serious damage and probably take down a Scorpion or Wraith with a fully charged hardlight spear point. That said, it’s not heavily armored, and a well placed scorpion shell or Gauss round could take it out in one hit.
I know this is heresy but…buffed Focus Rifle replaces Beam Rifle(again). And modified Battle Rifle replaces DMR because the DMR is literally just the CE Magnum with a different model, would be interesting to see a burst-fire long-medium range weapon. And keep the Magnum as the all-rounder. Get rid of SAW because it’s just an OP Assault Rifle. GET RID of the Storm Rifle because it replaced the Plasma Rifle(which is heresy). Get rid of the Wasp and replace with either the Hornet or the Hawk. Add some cool covenant vehicles(other than the Banshee and the Wraith). Add Banished weapons that fit into unique roles in the weapon sandbox. Add some Banished vehicles like the Blisterback and the Marauder. Actually add some new Promethean vehicles.
So Yah…I basically want more weapons to go than to stay. And if someone even THINKS to say, “What about the REQ system?”, I’ll totally blow my top.
