New Weapons?

We already got 99 Weapons in Halo 5 but I’m more curious if a weapon will get replaced or not? If there are any new weapons or ideas leave a comment down below

I’d love for the sticky detonator to return. Such a fun weapon!

The Gravity Flail. Basically a Gravity Hammer in the form of a medieval flail, complete with a long extendable metal chain.

That actually sounds like it would be amazing in the campaign. Imagine some new enemy, maybe some Brutes possibly, that wield one or two of those. Maybe they could be like mini bosses.

I personally wouldn’t count weapon variants in Warzone as counting as weapons on their own.
The silenced SMG from ODST though…I’d like that.

You have the best brain ever.

id love to see brute weapons make a comeback but only if the brutes are logically introduced into the campaign or if the weapons are in the game for a reason,
if you don’t want the brutes to be in the game but you do want their weapons then you can give an excuse like saying that the UNSC had some brute weapons for research purposes or they found them in some world and are now using them to fight back?

Brutes I miss them

Good idea.

<Personally I’d like to see Warden’s Blade as a weapon. You can kill Warden but never get his giant sword.

I remember there used to be an old glitch where you could assassinate warden and not get credit in warzone.

I hope more weapons and less skins. The same goes for armor customization.

Please please PLEASE make this happen! Miss that thing with a passion! Rigging your own hog with a charge, then running it into a base, jumping out and pulling the trigger for a multikill was super satisfying!

I think the conversation I’d be having if I were 343 is how many weapons I could get away with removing after Halo 5, rather than about what might be cool to add on top of the arguably out-of-control weapons sandbox as it exists in Guardians.

Halo’s gunplay used to resemble much more of a checked and balanced system rather than a sprawling assortment of weapons that are, for the most part, only minutely different from each other in terms of functionality. I’m not talking about the base weapons with this criticism, but the several variants that each basic weapon has in Halo 5 I understand that the many variants only really matter to the Warzone modes, but I think they dilute the identity of each individual gun and also have the effect of making Warzone the most chaotic and unbalanced mess of a gametype in the hisory of online Halo.

Getting back to a system where every weapon has a firm and settled niche and exists in a smaller context of overall guns would be better for making Halo’s sandbox feel like something you could actually learn to master again.

Most of those weapons are just reskins or partially modified or straight up improved and better than the stock weapons.
I would rather have new weapons not attachments or ultrarare versions that have a considerable advantage over stock weapons.
So in a thread called Weapons and Vehicles Sandbox I talked about the idea of a pool (i.e. UNSC or Covenant) and what a full suite in that pool would entitle (pistol, automatic, close range, rifle, sniper, explosive grenade). I remember seeing a developer video for Reach talking about how Bungie realized that they have the basic stuff already filled (pistol, automatics) as well as the power weapons filled (explosive, sniper) so the only room there was is somewhere in the middle. Weapons that fill sort of a specialist roll, doesn’t have a lot of ammo to be used as a replacement for your assault rifle, but still effective if used correctly. (that was a discussion of the grenade launcher).

So what I could see 343 doing is one of two things, make a new pool or reintroduce one that has been excluded (i.e. Brute weapons) or work on filling out the suites in the pools that haven’t been completely populated (basically the Promethean pool). I do think there is some room in the covenant pool that could also be filled out. I had an idea of a 2 handed weapon called a plasma disruptor it basically fires the overcharge shots of the plasma pistol without being able to fire in semi like the plasma pistol. Does only EMP and Shield damage (so like Halo 2) a bit of a faster time to charge up and doesn’t drain energy when just holding the charge but it does generate heat that may trigger a release and requiring a cool down. That is an idea of a mid tier specialist weapon that hasn’t been quite duplicated by something already in the covenant’s weapon pool yet.

Perhaps seeing more direct-energy weapons made by humans would be good to see in Halo Infinite. For example, there can be a laser gun that shoots out small laser balls at a fast pace. I’ve also mentioned one time that we can also go for a laser gun that would act similarly to the AK-47.
