New weapon ideas for the franchise?

I feel like 343 is running out of weapon ideas as shown in Halo 4, where all the Promethean weapons were basically reskins of UNSC weapons. Any ideas on new weaponry in terms of gameplay?
My ideas:
-Some kind of energy crossbow that, when stuck on to you, permanently cut your shield in half unless a teammate melee’d the crossbow off of you.
-A power drain launcher.
-A first-person flamethrower that would stay on the ground for at least 30 seconds; would be used as a passage blocking weapon
-A trip mine launcher that would only go off when an enemy crossed over it.
-An automatic shotgun.
-A pistol that would shoot out a projectile that would slow down the enemy (as shown in H4 when hacked).

I would love equipment back, I know we have AAs but I miss the energy drain, bubble shield and grav lift, however that’s not going to happen. Weapon wise I think they could add (since the new console can support more players and bigger maps) Drones/UAVs and some ancient Human weaponry maybe armour, also melee weapon that you could chose the design, energy dagger, combat knife etc.

I once had this idea of a needle shotgun and a “nest-of-bees” related weapon

Well, since the UNSC and Promies have a shotgun, we should have a Covenant Shotgun.

Also, UNSC…needs a Compound/Predator Bow.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and ask…does anyone remember the Tornado Gun?

OT: I wouldn’t say my idea was exactly new, but I would REALLY like to see the return of SMG’s. They were fantastic guns in Halo 2/3.

If the Mauler returns, then the Boltshot Charge Shot must be removed. Along with that we need the Brute Spiker and Brute Shot Back.

Could it be possible that they could bring back at least some equipment to replace EE like the jetpack with grav lift and treat equipment like a grenade type cause you know lack of buttons.

A Tornado gun actually sounds like a good idea, but how would it function?

LOL I remember Tornado gun.

But for a serious weapon, I would bring back the Halo Reach Grenade Launcher in Promethean form, as the UNSC already have the Sticky Detonator. The Grenade Launcher was a weapon that had a steep learning curve to it, as getting one-hit kills with it is comparable difficulty-wise to the sniper rifle. Bringing this weapon back would add a unique weapon to the weapon sandbox that requires a high level of skill to handle efficiently.

This Promethean Grenade Launcher maintains the mechanics and function of the human counterpart, but obviously, the aesthetic design of the weapon would differ. The visuals of the normal grenade explosion would be similar to the blue explosion of a Plasma Grenade, while the EMP explosion would look similar to the Pulse Grenade’s final explosion.

Perhaps call it the Promethean Discharge Launcher.

Also, bring back the Sentinel Beam! The Focus Rifle had potential but failed, due it being too weak to be of any significant use at long range. Perhaps if the Sentinel Beam was brought back with slight changes, it would be a great weapon to use.

Basically, make the beam more concentrated, as in the beam is more narrow but can reach longer ranges and deals more damage, capable of frying a fully-shielded spartan under a second after repeated exposure to the beam. The damage boost helps the weapon in both close range and long range.

Replace the Focus Rifle’s 2 modes of scope to a single zoom similar to the DMR and Light Rifle. This scope allows engaging enemies at long range, but the single zoom function puts less emphasis on trying to fry players across the map; that role is for the sniper rifle, beam rifle, and binary rifle.

In order to make this weapon a skillful weapon to use, the Sentinel Beam would have the same heat mechanic as the Focus Rifle, requiring you to carefully watch your weapon heat. I remember how easy the Sentinel Beam could be spammed by burst firing, but this isn’t the case with the Focus Rifle. Overall, bring back the Sentinel Beam with 3x scope, focus rifle heat system, and stronger damage to compete with other power weapons of Halo 4’s weapon sandbox.

I would like to see the Needler rifle brought back, but with a three burst shot like the Battle Rifle. Just so there is a covenant weapon that goes up against the BR.

I did like the Focus Rifle in Reach.Trust me people,we need to revive that awesome weapon.It was the first all purpose ranged weapon.I have used it many times and that weapon & I just click.Look,its like a sniper rifle with a bottomless clip and can be used in close,mid,and long range combat.It does give away the position of the shooter but it is astounding.Disoreintation is delivered instantly if you spam an opponent’s head,giving their screen an orange tint.Best sniper weapon in the entire Halo trilogy.
Definitely more needle-based weaponry is needed.Perhaps a sniper weapon which fires a small yet highly explosive needle killing any Spartan in one hit.
Iv’e always fantasized about an auto lock on weapon like the plasma launcher from reach.Weapons now demand way too much from the operator and I would like a weapons platform which satisfies my needs for long range target purging and a highly sensitive target tracking system and also a round with anti-material properties with a one hit kill like the Binary Rifle.To counteract this seemingly overpowered nature of this weapons platform,I have conceptualised a reloading system similar to a hunting rifle.Lack of magazine,direct insertion of round into firing chamber.Does anyone here do a 3-D rendering of anything,perhaps doing one and posting it in this discussion.
Another idea is this:An automatic weapons platform which fires guided shots of plasma with a homing capability,but the shots being more mobile and nimble than a needler’s rounds.I have noticed needler shots are nearly useless against more mobile opponents and the needles do not track sharply enough,introducing such a weapon would make battle more dynamic.And being able to vent the heat at will like the plasma repeater will allow constant and uninterrupted fire.

Nope.

Forerunner Spear Gun- four rounds HardLight spear gun (reloads Needler style.) Projectile speed is slightly faster than a fuel rod gun, and goes strait. It looks like a larger, grey Needler with a flat top and the four rounds protruding from the top. The spear can pass through multiple targets.

Brute Blaster- fires a barrage of magnetically accelerated buckshot at long range. They lose acceleration and drop after several hundred feet and “rain” down if fired into the sky.

Flood weapons: remember the original Half-Life’s alien weapons? Just like that. If I remember correctly, there was an acid ball launcher, a swarm gun (like the Needler), and the barnacle gun that grabbed enemies and brought them closer.
