Hello.
Just wanting to get some people’s thoughts on some of the audio we’ve heard so far for Halo 4, specifically on weapon noises.
A lot of the gameplays I have seen have had people talking over them or been filmed on a handheld camera in a noisy room, so I’ll admit I haven’t heard much of the weapon audio in full detail, however I have to say I personally think from what I’ve heard many of the new firing noises etc. are a bittoo different. I do understand that 343 wanted to make their game distinct from past Halo games that Bungie have created, but change for the sake of change isn’t always a good thing.
Perhaps I’m just looking for a nostalgia fix - but audio has been a large part of Halo for me in the past (I love how everything in the series so far, from music to weapon noises has always had that ‘Halo’ feel which is so unique from other games), and while I will very much miss Marty’s work, I have heard some of the new music, and it’s beginning to grow on me. I do feel however that weapon noises (such as the Gravity Hammer - see 0.55 onwards) did not need to be changed so drastically.
If you agree with me, or think differently - please feel free to say why, but try to keep things mature please.
Thanks.
