I had an idea that when your core is vulnerable some turrets pop out of the walls or something and you can’t detach them and they would be at key points in the base.
The idea itself sounds interesting. However, how do you balance this additional firepower of the defending team?

But you are still giving the defending team additional firepower to begin with.
And don’t forget you are inside a fairly small confined area so the turrets will be quite accurate and kill with a few bullets so even a quick overheat throws the match off balance.
When you introduce any additional defense mechanism you also have to introduce something to counter that in order to keep the balance.
In other words I’m afraid such a tweak would make this an unwinnable scenario.
I also want those turrets (human, plasma, splinter) from REQs to be able to be placed stationary. At least once per use.
