New Warthog Varients?

I would personally love to see more Warthog variants in Infinite. It’s all but guaranteed at this point that Infinite will have the “big 3” (regular, Gausshog, Rockethog) and the presence of the Scouthog in Halo 5 for the first time suggests it may return in Infinite, but it’s lack of any practical use really doesn’t help.

Halo Wars 2 introduced an idea I had several years ago for a Flamehog, where it has a flamethrower on the turret. This thing would actually be really cool as an extremely effective anti infantry and area denial light vehicle and has a really high intimidation factor.

I also had the idea for a Warthog with a mounted laser turret. It would compliment the Gausshog in the anti vehicular role, but sacrifice utility to deliver a much bigger punch.

343 could also add the Rockethog back from CE, and rename it the Misslehog. It would shoot individual, powerful rockets that are laser guided (track towards wherever the player is aiming at, just like Ad Victoriam.)

the transport warthog from halo 3’s campaign

Hannibal hog

Oh my goodness I can’t believe I forgot about that thing! However, wasn’t it stated that they won’t be adding it because of the ability to get a quick and easy killtacular?

I don’t think Hannibal would make a new ‘Hog variant but instead designing upgrades for pre existing variants.

I’m hoping to see at least the standard hog, gauss hog, and transport hog. A rocket hog would be a nice bonus, but I’m indifferent on it being included. We have such a varied sandbox as it is that I really just would prefer we keep the variations to a minimum.

Though if the Flood return, a “flame hog” could be very useful. As far as a laser hog goes, if it requires the ridiculously long charge time of the Spartan Laser, I’d find it less than ideal for a fast attack vehicle.

Being able to mount an MG on a scout hog kind of like George in the beggining of Reach would be pretty neat

The Oni Rockethog missiles track ariel and ground vehicles.

what about a flameWarthog type?

that is working the same as a normal warthog but is not shooting bullets but only flame.

and all other type warthog’s need to come also like the normal version, rocket, guass.

But they only track vehicles and each individual rocket doesn’t do that much damage. In order to rack up damage, you have to rely on most if not all rockets hitting and it can be pretty easy for arial vehicle to dodge them, especially the Banshee.

My proposed Missile hog doesn’t auto lock, but just tracks towards wherever you are aiming. So someone with good aim would be able to make the rockets track infantry, still hit a Banshee even after it flips, and bank rockets around to kill someone hiding behind cover. You can’t do all that with an Oni Rocket hog.

Again, think of Ad Victoriam.

Jorge didn’t mount his chaingun on that truck though. He just propped it up on the upper frame to help stabilize it. And even then, I honestly think adding this feature would be quite redundant. Why would you requisition in a Scout hog and then go and requisition in a turret that has limited ammo and a very limited gun arc when you can just call in the Warthog pre assembled by a professional so it has full turret rotation and unlimited ammo?

I’ve been wanting this ever since, and one where you could actually load people on in the back.

Run down hog. Turret is two Assault rifles strapped to the mount and the vehicles itself looked battered and beaten. Instead of overheating it has a reload function but the two ars allow for sufficient dps

Other turret types. Got the tri-barreled turret. Could have a slow start up but high damage. The turret jorg carries around. Well rounded and reliable and then the minigun turret we currently have could have the highest fire rate but overheats super quick
