That was purely a rumor, we don’t know what other types of Hogs there are. Where did you hear this rumor from?
I don’t know about any new variants, but I get the feeling that the turret on the 'Hog will be able to be controlled from the driver’s seat, at least in campaign. I base that on the turret moving by itself in the Forza 4 video.
Of course, that may have been to show the turret in greater detail, but with no Marines about…

How were they going to put marines in Forza 4? Sabre just made the hog sent it to the guys at Forza and they just slapped it on and added a Jen Taylor commentary.
Well, I hope they’ll make the hogs out of metal and not paper this time 
A grenade-launcher hog could be fun, less powerful then gauss but easier to use then missile, a 6-12 round burst then reload.
Transport hog might make sence, but we’ve yet to see a good one for MP in a Halo game.
Something Forerunner. Maybe a cross between a Sentinel beam and Splaser?
If they do make an aquatic or air-borne version, I think they should just go the extra distance and create a whole new vehicle; there’s no sense in calling it a Warthog at that point.
Ive been reading up on it, and from what I can tell, it isnt necessarily a new variant, as much as a new body kit(like car companies change from year to year). It seems that the Forza 4 version IS the new warthog. If you look at the details screen that comes up in the videos of it, it says model year 2554. If youve read up on halo 4, it starts in the year 2553. Therefore, this model of warthog isnt released until you get into the game
As posted above, it appears to have automatic OR manual operation of the gun and looks to sit significantly lower to the ground. Also, if you read up on the technologies, it seems to point to the Gausshog getting a lot more use

technically, a hover-hog could be plausible, considering that by halo 4’s cannon date, the elites are still friends with the UNSC, so the elites may have shared some of their tech with the UNSC… probably not the case though
and a Boat would be useful btw
I think a fully armored variant of a warthog would be nice… where like its not open and you can’t get killed so easily while inside of it…
